Could you please post a picture of the screen showing the failure?

Recheck the panel connections. You may have misaligned one.

        Re: plasma with vertical lines

Any ribbon cables from control board to y and/or z drive and any cables from y/z board going to x drivers (boards along the bottom of the tv) can cause this as said by V/E.

hay guys, here are some photos, at first when power on the TV there were no picture but sound, after replacing both Z and Y SUS boards i have a picture with sound and vertical lines in the picture. all the necessary voltage adjustment was done in white wash mode.

            Re: plasma with vertical lines

            buffer issue perhaps?

see if any of the buffer chips are running signifigantly hotter than the others.

also check the largest surface mounted fets on the buffer boards. Ohm between the center tab and the right leg of each one and post your results.

i just fixed one of these with a shorted q1 on the top buffer board so this may be worth your time to check.

                Re: plasma with vertical lines

all the chips on the lower buffer are much cooler than the upper buffer chips, the two fets on the upper buffer reading are 23.36 and 23.36 and the lower buffer fets reading are 31.36 and 31.36 hop i an using the right measurements ohms.

                  Re: plasma with vertical lines

just ohms of k ohms? mohms? makes a big difference.

if those read like you say the set wouldnt work at all. take a pic of your meter reading/setting and a pic of where your putting your test leads

Here are the actual readings from the buffer fets hope this time i am correct if not i will send you some photos, upper buffer fets 06.78, 06.81 K ohms and lower buffer 06.82, 06.84 K ohms thanks!!!!!!!

ok you are good( or most likely) good there.. bummer they were worth checking at least. theres a couple( i think 4) on the ysustain that would also be worth testing.

too bad you arent close to me, id let you swap parts with mine untill you found the issue..

                          Re: plasma with vertical lines

I already made some voltage adjustments on the y sus board, you name it i am willing to try any thing to get this bad boy up and running again. May even consider swaping boards as a last resort.

                            Re: plasma with vertical lines

That looks like a control board issue. Regular vertical lines on a plasma is usually a fault with the control board.

replacing a third board i would have to be 100% certain replacing the controol board will work.

                                Re: plasma with vertical lines

Search for the service manual at Elektrotanya.com
Sometimes there are testmodes that can be selected on the logic board (like shorting a jumper, the service manual should tell exactly) then the logic board may generate a testpattern or a all white screen. This would tell if the logic and upstream multiplexing is OK, or if the signal from the mainboard is bad.
The repeated lines could be the result of a bad adress or data line in the logic board.

the jumper test mode you are referring to are only available on some models, i was able to assess a test or color pattern for the main menu i an not shore this was the same pattern you are referring to, please explain in detail thanks ?

I don't know your particular model, but I was just telling that some models has a logic board testmode, which then makes the logic board generate it's own testsignal. Then it could be possible to determine of which side of the LVDS connection the problem arise.

This is usually covered by the service manual.Try to find it on Elektrotanya.
You may need to check which panel this model is built around, like LG42V5 or such. This information can usually be found on a sticker on the panel itself.
Then you search for the panel servicemanual rather than the TV model.
