NEC nlt32xt1 lcd tv picture in a black smog

Hello, This tv powers up with no hesitation, but the screen shows mainly black with a darker than usual picture that starts from halfway up,and to the R.H side of the screen, and floats towards the top and back again, and gives the apearance of viewing the picture behind a moving black smog cloud that has smooth gaps in it where the picture is visable,(very hard to describe this one)
Ive never come accross this symptom before, but I suppose LCDs have different symptoms to CRTs.Would anyone know where to look,i.e power board,or main board,or backlight and inverter? Thanks for any leads to this problem.

    Regards:Andy.

Pictures of this set would help. No inline pictures.

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
      by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Sony xbr-65x930e faded to black; now has backlight but no picture
      by kerberos137
Hopefully someone can help me out. This tv was working perfectly until a few weeks ago. At some point, the TV just faded to black, but sound continued playing. It almost looked like smoke on the screen as it faded from the bottom left corner toward the top right. Took only a second or less, but wasn't instant. After restarting, it turned back on and worked fine for another day or two. Then it happened again more or less the same way, but in a slightly different direction, again with sound continuing. I thought it was working fine after another restart, but looked a bit dimmer than before. Then...

Nec E557Q lines and fade to black picture FIXED
      by S14Sr20det
Trash picked this tv from a local business, had a garbage image and would fade to black within second then cut off. It would get shorter and shorter every time.

Narrowed it down to the right side of the panel by unplugging half the t con
One side had a great picture the other was black and distorted still.

Down to the buffer boards… found yet another set of two esd diode arrays. One leg had a 60 ohm short to ground and would get lower the more attempts made to turn the tv on.

Soldering iron and some chip quick knocked both of them off and...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
      by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

      Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

      First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Element E4AA70R black screen shows picture
      by EazyBone
On this TV I got black screen with with picture.

Tested the LEDs and they work.

Had a hunch that this was similar to a ONN tv thread I found and wanted to post about this to possibly help someone else.

The capacitor by the LEDs is bulging, 450v 10 uf. I suspect this is the cause. Will post results after replacing the capacitor. You could just replace power board as well I assume.

Will post results when capacitor arrives...
