I have a plasma that does not power up, it gives a start up sound and 5 blue ring flashes but then shuts off. I have soldered new caps in my moms samsung lcd but this plasma is different. Any ideas where to start, I have a multimeter and can solder. Thanks Michael

Re: Samsung SP-P4251 Plasma No power
If I were you I would start by disconnecting the Y-Main and X-main from the power supply one at a time and trying to power it up. If it stays on at power up then it will most likely be the board that is unplugged from the power supply. If it does not stay on at power up with the boards disconnected then it is most likely the power supply. Keep in mind these are just blind suggestions. Clear pictures of the power supply, Y-Main, and X-Main will be needed to get you going in the right direction. -
Re: Samsung SP-P4251 Plasma No power
the 3077s go bad in the sustain module.
50/50 shot it takes out the Vs transistors in the power supply bd as well.
going off memory, but if it serves me, there are two 2SK23XX? i cant remmeber. but they go, they take out the IR2114 and take out the fuse with it.
this happens sometimes, alongside the 3077 failure.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by CDNBrewerHello, I have a Samsung Plasma TV - Model # PN43D450A2D
This was my parents TV and the initial symptoms were that the display was hard to turn on with the display making various clicking noises until one day it would not turn on anymore.
I took a look and found a couple 1000uF capacitors (i believe on the low voltage size) that had leaked out their electrolyte and did not test well on a tester. I replaced them but still no dice.
When the TV is plugged in, there is no clicking, LED status lights (on PCB boards or the front display) and the power on button... -

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

by lp20thI have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...
