So, I have one of these kenwood units that freezes on the splash screen on powerup and wont advance further. doing some googling its kinda pointing to corrupt software which i suspected.
Trouble is, besides finding an update file from Kenwoods website, i cant really find any info on how to reflash this thing.
i saw some stuff on the 570 from @mixmansc, but the links are dead. Plus I dont know if it will work on a 571.
Thoughts?

Re: Sharp lc-52e77un Blinking light
This seems to be a very common problem, and is happening in droves lately. over various different models.
I am starting to wonder if the main CPU's SPI flash memory isnt getting corrupt, and therefore it cant boot.

Hi,
A few years back you posted in a thread regarding LG 50X3 plasmas - with reference to rebuilding the IPM's;
Did you ever post any pictures of your rebuild work? - I'm curious which MOSFETs or IGBT's you may have used.
Kind regards,
Gordon

Rca L32hd32d no picture
Got one of these today, absolutely no picture. No backlight, no picture, nothing. Just green light only. Even has a remanufactured sticker on the back.
I checked the usual op-amp, but it didnt look burned. it actually gets slightly warm when turned on, but no picture.
all the caps are good in the power supply. any ideas? I smell maybe a burning smell coming from somewhere, but no smoke trail or abnormal heat.
P.S. shining a flashlight into the panel reveals the panel isnt working either. Also I ebayed the model number, and they have every board but the...Last edited by mbates14; 06-26-2013, 08:43 AM.

Re: Vizio E470VLE eeprom?
Well the problem is, I need the bin file, and that means i would be stuck spending $200 for another board just to get it and be stuck with a spare board. And actually its not an eeprom, its an SPI flash memory IC.

Re: Vertical white fading lines on Sams LED
its definitely a bad panel. it looks like it anyway. panel failures affect any portion of the screen whether partial or all of it.
Especially if the picture ghosts its 99% bad panel. Its definitely a tossup, but im betting on the panel.

Re: Samsung LN32B540P8D with bad screen
I had a 52" that did this, it was only on half the screen though. the COF ribbons from the panel actually started to corrode/tear away from the buffer interconnect board itself. No fix. I tried and it only lasted maybe a few days.

Vizio E470VLE eeprom?
I have one of these that apparently has a common problem. Dead with orange light only.
I see plastered everywhere that people have a repair service for these things, but the root cause and actual fix is still elusive. I seen one auction on ebay stating that if any components were bad or blown that it wouldnt be repairable.
That automatically struck me as software issue. So i went hunting around for the firmware and absolutely cannot find it. Vizio service was no help either, they said they dont have service manuals for thier TVs and that the firmware cannot be reflashed...Last edited by mbates14; 09-27-2012, 01:14 PM.

Re: Sanyo TVs SUCK
I think i will stick with my CRT projection units. they seem to last a long time.
And keeping a spare set of tubes, as i have an early Mitsubishi from 1989 that STILL works. only thing thats ever been done is a cleaning every year, plus a refresh of solder joints. and a convergence tweak one time.
bad thing is, analog convergence = PAIN.
Here is a picture of it I took in 2003 when i was refreshing the solder joints and touching up the convergence.
Picture is still sharp and clear as it was when my...Last edited by mbates14; 04-15-2011, 09:06 PM.

Re: Sharp LC-52SB55U Power Opc Blinking
ive had a couple of those ribbons ive tossed out with the panels i had, which were broken screens.
I dont think anyone would "save" that ribbon, or think of doing so. I didnt think of doing so. sorry.
Also, i cant remember, but are the LCD ribbons/buffers/interconnects on the BOTTOM of the TV?
ive found all-too-common people spray liquids on the screen to clean it, instead of the cloth. What happens is it runs down the front of the panel and seeps into the ribbons/buffers, shorts and corrodes...

Re: Magnavox 50mf231d/37 just buzzing
or glass blow another evacuation stem on it, and pump down the panel, and pump it back full of gas. (good luck on that). Assuming there are NO other cracks ANYWHERE else.

Re: Samsung LCD model LE40B86 - no colour
yup. its called glitching.
if a power spike occurs during an eeprom write, it can distort the value and location of where its being written, and WHAT is being written.
Glitches also affect CPU core execution as well, causing instructions to be interpreted as something they are not. (dont ask me how i know this)...

Sanyo TVs SUCK
Just a reminder: DONT BUY SANYO.
Got a TV in with a bad signal board. TV was still under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. Needed a replacement signal board.
manufacturer DISCONTINUED the board. Before it was even out of warranty! lol.
They had to replace the TV.
Let me re-emphasize: DO NOT BUY SANYO

Re: Sharp LC-52SB55U Power Opc Blinking
Hold the Channel Down, Input buttons at the same time while plugging the TV in.
the TV will power up into a diagnostic service mode. chances are, you wil see NO backlight.
You must replace the blown fuse, and the 4 bad switch-fets on the inverter board if this is the case.
