    RCA L32WD22 TV dead

I'm working on an RCA L32WD22.
The front panel LED is yellow in standby, when you press the power button the LED flashes. No codes as far as I can tell just a constant flash.

    Power supply outputs:
    5v is only 3.4v
    12v 15v and 24v are all ok.

If I hold down the power button for abut 10 seconds, the 5v comes up to about 4.5 the led gets brighter, then turns green, and 5v goes back down to 3.4v. No other signs of life (no backlight flicker, no noise from speakers)

If I disconnect the main board from the power supply, and leave the inverter plugged in, the 5v is 4.9ish. So either the supply is weak, or something on the mainboard is bad and loading it down. Will load test the 5v line later.

Visually nothing too amiss, though someone has done some poor soldering on the power supply, particularly the caps on the 5v output.
Caps are crap Elite brand so automatically suspect, just not sure if I want to throw caps at it if it winds up being an unrepairable mainboard like the last LCD TV I worked on.

    More later.

Patch in a good 5v supply.

This power supply tend to have elite caps that does not bloat for at least some of them.

Also change all small capacitors in hot side section. Inspect the 5V regulator feedback circuit and the components for 5V standby supply. You may will find none or find one or two that is leaky or off value. Need multimeter. This is advanced job to trouble shoot.

      Cheers, Wizard

that 5v section runs hot.the caps are baked.see the darkened board under those caps?
had 12 of those sets given to me.caps and solder joints fixed all.

Thanks for the suggestions, I should be getting back to this one this evening, after some higher priority home repair chores.

            Finally got to it tonight.
2 Lelon 1000uf/16v caps that looked fine on the top, had pushed out bungs on the bottom, and measured quite bad.
Replaced those, and a few others, some solder touch-ups, and it's good to go.

Thank you! I got one sitting in my closet waiting for me to get to it, mine powered off. But doesn't have the flashing light like yours does, I get nothing. Hooked it up to my computer to make sure I had nothing coming out of it. I'll do some cap examination soon.

I replaced the caps mentioned, got a repair kit of caps for it. Only thing is I have to big 1000UF/450V "Elite" caps that have not been replaced. When I power up the unit now I get a green light "when I hit power" but then nothing, upon powering down I get flash codes 5 and 12 with a yellow light. The unit is only about two years old, very clean inside.
                Any suggestions............

                    Re: RCA L32WD22 TV dead

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I figure it's better than starting a new one on the same tv. Mine has an issue where the video just cuts out, but I still get sound.

I pulled the power board so far and see that there is a very bad scorch mark "above" the 450v elite cap on the left, and some of the little chips on the other side also have scorch marks around them. Finally, there is a plastic guard that the board sits on that seems to be a little bit melted directly under that cap.

Knowing that, would it be possible to still work with this board? I can replace the capacitors, but It's a lot of work if the board is trashed. I attached pictures, sorry their kind of blurry, but it's the best I can do so far.

Sidney You need better pictures or higher resolution, I'd suggest to start a new thread so as to lesson confusion with the people trying to help you out. I still have yet to finish mine as well, I put it aside for other projects I'm working on. I think my problem is I didn't get low ESR caps to replace with.

                        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Power supply Manson NTP-5561 (5661) LCD controller dead - PIC18F87K90 HEX dump required
                        by Andreas_de
                        Hello!

i got a damaged Manson NTP-5561 (60V, 1,6A DC output) and and the main issue is that the controler IC for the LCD display has a short. The controler IC PIC18F87K90 is mounted on the back of the back of the LCD. Vss-Vdd = 3 Ohm. The 5V and 3,3V power line was killed as well, but that is not a problem. A new LDO 3,3V and 5V 7805 is already ordered.
Replacing the PIC18F87K90 is necessary but that makes no sense without having the HEX dump of the new controler.

Does anybody have such a power supply and could do a HEX dump of the Flash and EEPROM memory?

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                        by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...

Samsung QE 75 Q 7 FGMTZG Power Supply dead
                        by kevin_allein
Hi, have this Samsung QE 75 Q 7 FGMTZG TV with no function. First analysis shows the power supply board is dead and fuse blown. Power Supply has the number BN94-11439A. I did short circuit test transistor and diodes and those do not appear to have shorts. I must admit I did not look at every single data sheet.
In the TV was some black dust residue, so probably one of the electrolytic caps blew, but they do not show short either.

Does anyone have schematics for that board ?
Any good tip, what could be the issue ?

I have a floodlight-security camera that recently died on me.

its hardwired to 115v po115v outlet. One evening it simply died. After some troubleshooting (ensuring it had power and ensuring the electronics were actually functional by supplying 5v via usb port) i realized the power supply must be the issue. The supply was noticably warm to the touch even though it was not powering anything.

Trying to understand what i was up against i went looking for others with similar issues and anyone who might have attempted a repair. While a few ppl have had the...
