Hey guys thought id chime in,
I got this set for free from my friend was gonna toss it out less then a year old, 50" Vizio 4K UHD model number D50u-D1 V series Smart TV. I have done the oven bake trick to the X box and a few GPU'S Ive had, so Today I found this(wasn't about to read it all). So I opened mine up nothing to lose, took about an hour to get the heat sinks off it and clean off the TIM'S(all dried up). Cooked it at 400 for 11 minute's, put it out side to cool it off, new thermal paste applied...

Hey all,
To keep me busy when not working I buy used motherboards with bad CPU pins to fix. Long story short I lolled when I saw this board and it's issue, look next to the CPU socket(towards the I/O) to find the TEC chip.

Just let me know if they seem in spec's, I read the whole thread(took a few days) I still don't know how to read the writing on the new one's and just want to be safe.I know someone posted the link...

Was wondering the best approach for this cap replacement, the CPU is a heat sink itself isn't it?
Also I need advice on finding a CAP to match the others, how to I measure(with a multi meter)of course but what settings?

I got a micro scope and have done a few micro solder things, but assume I know nothing cause pretty much I do!!

Gonna build it in a case n sell it, I got the board off flee Bay. Three pins were bent, or so it looked. I got the board and it appeared that someone had got thermal paste on the pins, also 2 were touching and one was gone. I straightened them out and popped in my 3770K boom fired right up.

Guys need some help(mood feel free to move this, to its own topic under motherboards).
I have an EVGA 680 motherboard, no boot no display. I was using a multi meter to check for blown mosfets as the board will do nothing when I hit the button, no sound no noise no power on. The board looks good caps look good, no smell, no nothing
So I used a jumper on the green n black wire of the power supply 24 pin harness and boom I got power on, now the 2 (7) segments displays show - - as if part of the board is not getting power....

Depending on the board, the newer boards you can flash with nothing in them(intel I think). Use a bootable USB jump drive, swap the PSU out?...

I'm not sure how to test the caps, it doesn't sound like your testing it correctly. They wont show voltage when powered off, they will show like a high number then slowly change to lower if I recall correctly. Try switching your leads, adjusting the Ohms setting till you get a ready. Try a higher Ohms setting on the Multi meter, you should get something............start low setting then adjust up one at a time till you get readings. They have a positive and negative side, try both....

One suggestion, swap out the PSU Ultra cheap. Swap out every part you can, see if it works....

Hey guys long time!!!

Been busy in my personal life and not had time to post, or even work on stuff. But I'm back now...............

Anyway long story short I got this board and it has several traces scratched, I almost had all them done the phone rang I jerked my iron(moved all the trace jumps). Now after several re heating's the opening is wider between the points.

I have not a clue how to do this, but would love to repair this(for my personal use) not profit. Its a bad picture but in there are several traces that seem just wider than a human hair....
