I had to reopen this thread as now I've encountered another problem with the tv.
Basically the tv works but the brightness Is at its lowest possible and the screen flickers. I can see the image in the dark room but only then. I have tried to lower the brightness and also turned the automatic brightness off.
      The things I've tested are:
-plugged of the pcb and start the tv, but still same issue
-started the tv without the led connected plugged in, same
-tested the power that comes out from the power board to the led connector. I am getting 286v on the first pin 1+ and just that, the rest shows 0 voltage. With or without the led connector in.
Is this likely to be the power board needs replacing?
Please see the image attached with the power board.
      Thanks
Did you unplug the cable between main<->PSU and plug in AC cord? This will light up the backlights if its working (screen will be dark due to LCD off but will see backlight shining through the holes in the middle chassis.

Is the flickering like a brightness strobing effect? I have this on a US version of 65TU7000 but not dimmed picture. My issue was a noisy VCST

        hi,
yes i did. nothing changed, and yes, like a brightness strobing effect. sometimes looks brighter . if you look down the holes in the chassis you can see the light "strobing"

masking Panel CKV never being solution.. the side effect range are huge.

You might be right, but i don't really think this is what caused the problem. The problem was that the screen was set on full brightness all the time and this made the led fail (probably burnt led).haven't got the suction cups to remove the screen and check

No... i think defenitely no.. this set has been hit by a overvoltage, those can destroy many parts of a tv at same time, already seen so many times.. plus some effects of o.v. damage can show with delay..

There was an overvoltage in my area couple of weeks ago, but didn't notice anything damaged in thr house.
OK, so what's to be done? First check for burnt led

build a simple tester, YouTube is full of projects, power resistor and a diode britdge, 2 components, if led are bad replace led bars

With this in mind Diah, what's the proper solution to blocking these lines so that other issues don't crop up.
