    TP.MS3463S.PB711 Start up loop

I have a TP.MS3463S.PB711 that is boot looping. Immediately you apply power the standby LED turns white but it doesn't start up. After about 30 seconds it goes red for a second and then back to white.

I have 40v for the backlight but no boost. Pin 8 (PWM) for the backlight boost is 137mV so it is off. DB101 is generating the 12v rail. The 5v rail is produced on LD1, the 3.3v is present on UL1 and the 1.2v is on LD2.

We appear to have all the power rails, no short on the backlight or anywhere else I have checked but she will not start up. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Maybe it's in the firmware.

Thanks. I could take the NAND off and get an adapter for my TL866ii but I can't find a NAND dump for my particular model of TV. Any idea how specific these NAND dumps are? I am thinking about screen resolution etc. Cheers.

My TV is a Sharp LC-32CHF5111K

There is no Nand, there is SPI Flash 25Q64, put your dump here, I will check it.

I thought it was in the TSOP48 and the underside.

Well that is interesting because this board has no IC populated there and neither does a donor board that I harvested some backlight parts off but never touched.

I wonder if there are different versions built on the same PCB?

I can't seem to embed the picture but it is at https://photos.app.goo.gl/56uAEviUx19RbNVKA

Yes, it turns out there are two versions, with spi and nand firmware.

Any idea where I can source the NAND dump so I can reflash it? Pretty good chance it is that.

How are you? I have a pb with my sharp TV LC48CFE4042E, mainboard TP. MS3463S.PB711.
If i send you the dump of the spi fash of the TV, could you repair it?

There are two dumps in the archive, the original one is fixed, the second one is also fixed and cleaned (nvm -FF...) The file name should be 25Q64, not 25Q40.

                            Hello Lotas,

Thank a lot for the two dumps. I will test them quickly.
Could you help me to fixed my graphic board Radeon HD7870 2G?
The graphic board was not use during 1year, then i used it 1 month ago, in my pc, no post and black screen. I check the mosfets, some of them seem to be bad but when i remove them and test them, they are good.
I don't understand why i have always shorts on the pcb when i test Drain and Source (Mosfets removed). Do you think that the gpu is shorted?
Some pictures of my graphic board
                            Thanks

                                  by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Did not know the term boot loop at that time. As the loop delay ran into a few minutes did all the recommended troubleshooting, soft and hard reset, changing cables and outlet locations, no help. As the delay increased contacted Samsung tech group and allow them remote access the tv. Tech was moving too fast to see exactly what he was doing but this ultimately it was also no help. Lived with the delay until it stretched out over 6 hours. Pulled of off the back cover...

                                  Hello everyone,

I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.

Well, my decice specs are the following:

                                  Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
                                  CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H

                                  The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...

                                  Hello Everyone,

Long story short, I got this unit for very cheap.
I've started to experiment with it's BIOS, as I did before successfully with an M900. However my very bad quality SOIC clip broken while dumping of the biosof and it must have damaged something on the panel, because it does not turn on, and does exactly nothing when powered. The maximum voltage that could have affected something is the 3.3 or 5v from the IC clip, because the unit was not powered while the bios dumping was in progress.

                                  I've performed some measurements:
                                  - 20V rail perfectly...

                                  by bimole
                                  Hi,

A colleague gave me an apparently ill CORSAIR CX600.
He told me that he heard a banging noise, and smelt the magic smoke.
After tearing down the PSU, no burnt component, everything seems OK, but the PSU often refuses to stay ON. When shorting PS_ON to GND, the fan spins a bit a finally stops. No output voltages.

I tried to treat some apparently bad solder joins and finally it seems to work OK... on the 12V and 5V rails!
It's another story on the 3.3V rail...

I have some devices to test deeply PSUs (scope, AC source, electronic load)...
