Sharp LC19SB24U; red vertical line comes and goes

Yes, this is a very old Sharp 19" but I would like to fix it if possible. As you can see from the attached picture there is a single red vertical line.
Yesterday when I turned the set on, it was there for about 30 minutes then disappeared and did not show up again (set was on for another 3 hours or so).
Today it was not there when I powered the set on, then appeared after about 15 minutes. Set has been on for about an hour and it's still there.
From what I have read I'm guessing that this might be the t-con board and not the display itself as it does come and go.

Edit: just pulled this off of the wall to finish installing an outlet behind it. As the case is gently flexed (which is difficult because it's an old, solid TV) the red line comes and goes. I know the connection to the LCD screen itself has exceedingly small contact surfaces. Any easy way to reseat it so it's proper all the time with no wiggling necessary?

simple things first, clean and re-seat the ribbon cables going from tcon to panel, careful they can be delicate, can use isoprophy alcohol, some use a pencil eraser.

Here's what the display looks like without the T-Con board connected. Colors are reversed but the blue line is showing up where the red line was. Overview and closeup.
I'll assume that we are all done here with this set aside from parting it out, assuming anybody wants parts from a 15 year old 19" TV.

seems like its probably a bad tab bond, a shim should work if thats the case.

Thanks for all your help everybody but I think we are done here. I tried shimming and just made things worse. And notice how the red line is still there.
The only thing left is to figure out who gets the boards- ShopJimmy or eBay?

Damn, what happened, if it was a tab bond contact issue, it would be the one right where the red line is and just require a bit of a shim like what was used in the videos.

                  Kogan - KALED65XU9220STB - Blue Vertical Line

                  Hi all.

I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).

The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.

Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
                  by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...

Samsung UE58TU7100K - no picture, vertical line
                  by mrsith
                  Hi.

Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.

This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.

Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's...

VIZIO M60-C3 Can the vertical line be fixed?
                  by tmhobadcap
I am trying to help my friend to fix his Vizio tv with a vertical line on the screen. The line is on the right side. It is blue/purple on the right side starting from the top. But it only goes to about 3/4 of the screen height (not to the bottom of the screen). It is very obvious when the screen is dark and it is hard to be seen when the screen is bright. Please help....
