Hi, i have followed a thread in another forum, same brand, different model, same situation, it turned out to be a bad tcon, a new tcon solved tge problem, i strongly suggest you to buy a replacement tcon, post sun light picture of yours so i can read the model codes, you must match both silkscreen code and barcode code, maybe the one that explicits the model of the panel like LF55xxxx (xx)(xx).. bye..

I wasnt actively trying to produce this, i was just trying to find the impulse origin. Didnt really expect it to randomly not shut off

I'm not sure what kind of pictures youre asking for right now. Pictures of the boards are in a comment further up the conversation (imgur)

    Thx!

Now when i was playing a bit i clipped in the LVDS while the optical port was red (MB running, connected to laptop via HDMI 1).

The TV didnt go to STDBY immediately this time. While i still got no sound, it usually just turns off on the spot when i did this in the past.

I couldnt check if i got any picture as its lying face down on the floor rn...

Is there a way to get it to display Test pictures? The Red green blue white things you do for driver board test?

Oh and: The TV really has not a lot of hours on its back. Maybe 1 to 2 Hrs per day, gaming after work, if I'm not on PC Monitor.

Sometimes a whole week not one Minute of operating time...

The optical won't come on when 22v disconnected from TCon. Will only come on if I unplug the 51pin LVDS.

I've read about some jumpers on the MB connector on Power board side, is this something which is applicable here? Anyways, what'd be the goal to achieve? Have the expected voltages on the pins to proceeded boot up procedure?

And many thanks for your explanations. I've read many posts from your, old ones too and you're like a TV god

1- will be one row or more shorted...
2- calculated yours 2 years use as how many hours was the TV on. and be sure LED / OLED Diode have limited life circle
3-at time you had disconnected the LVDS and the optical port remain red,,, mean
    you have on PCB 12 , 20 V to MB and 22V 12V to T-con
4- if you put every things back as original and disconnect the 22V on T-CON ( be sure the 22V socket) when you plug it in wall the Optical will come Red and then off... you need to push RC power on or at service RC power only.

    Damn

Would I be able to measure that signal? Sounds like an easier way to know about a short than pulling cables ;D

And is it like one row, one cell or all cells shorted?

How can this occur? The TV was wall mounted for 2 yrs then just turned off while gaming and voilà.

Can I somehow test the power board and TCON for function so I can safely give them away?

you have on T-CON LVDS sockt 1 pins " Panel SOS" this deliver signal to MB Micom to turn off PCB and let it stay at STB. if you cut off this pin on T-CON side,, the Panel will light up. but you need to have ready fire extinguish close to you as the Panel 99.9% catch fire.

Thanks! Could you elaborate how you can conclude this? Still new to the TV scene and at least want to learn something from all of this

What's responsible for telling the MB to shut off because theres shorted cells?
Any measurement point to "see" the short with a multimeter?

If I remove the 22v Socket from TCON no change. Only once did the SPDIF connector light up for a second. Couldn't replicate at will.

With both 22v and 12v disconnected, its the same behavior.

Only if I remove the LVDS cables from MB to TCON is when the SPDIF lights and stays on.

I cannot see any other LEDs on the MB. Shall there be some?

the socket P251 on PCB it go to T-CON driver boards as 2 sockets 1= 12V and other 22V. the 22V socket at T-CON driver boards disconnect it from T-CON side and turn on the TV.... keep your eyes on the MB and Optic audio socket it lid red and how many LED indicator on the MB will turn on and remain on.

Ive done some blind testing as im pretty new to TV fixing.

DRV_ON for example in 0V in OFF, jumps to 1.5v when pressing power button and returns to 0v. This might explain the absence of 22v for the Panel

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
    by kca
    Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
    by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
    by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

    by Hakuu
    Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

    More Details

TCL 43S423 TCON OR PANEL FAULTY???
    by netgearnetgear
Good day, I have a TCL TV: Model 43s423. After turning ON the TV, the ROKU TV logo appears with fine lines over the whole screen, then after a while there are vertical bands in the middle of the screen top to bottom and the TV tries to update its firmware but I do not have the remote to connect it to my new network connection. Also the Power ON light blinks 2 times in quick succession. When I remove the ribbon on the right of the tcon board the left side of the screen shows but with fine lines. If I remove the left side ribbon and connect the right side ribbon the whole screen is blank with...
