I wasnt actively trying to produce this, i was just trying to find the impulse origin. Didnt really expect it to randomly not shut off

I'm not sure what kind of pictures youre asking for right now. Pictures of the boards are in a comment further up the conversation (imgur)...

    Thx!

Now when i was playing a bit i clipped in the LVDS while the optical port was red (MB running, connected to laptop via HDMI 1).

The TV didnt go to STDBY immediately this time. While i still got no sound, it usually just turns off on the spot when i did this in the past.

I couldnt check if i got any picture as its lying face down on the floor rn...

Is there a way to get it to display Test pictures? The Red green blue white things you do for driver board test?...

Oh and: The TV really has not a lot of hours on its back. Maybe 1 to 2 Hrs per day, gaming after work, if I'm not on PC Monitor.

Sometimes a whole week not one Minute of operating time...

The optical won't come on when 22v disconnected from TCon. Will only come on if I unplug the 51pin LVDS.

I've read about some jumpers on the MB connector on Power board side, is this something which is applicable here? Anyways, what'd be the goal to achieve? Have the expected voltages on the pins to proceeded boot up procedure?

And many thanks for your explanations. I've read many posts from your, old ones too and you're like a TV god ...

    Damn

Would I be able to measure that signal? Sounds like an easier way to know about a short than pulling cables ;D

And is it like one row, one cell or all cells shorted?

How can this occur? The TV was wall mounted for 2 yrs then just turned off while gaming and voilĂ .

Can I somehow test the power board and TCON for function so I can safely give them away?

Thanks! Could you elaborate how you can conclude this? Still new to the TV scene and at least want to learn something from all of this

What's responsible for telling the MB to shut off because theres shorted cells?
Any measurement point to "see" the short with a multimeter?...

If I remove the 22v Socket from TCON no change. Only once did the SPDIF connector light up for a second. Couldn't replicate at will.

With both 22v and 12v disconnected, its the same behavior.

Only if I remove the LVDS cables from MB to TCON is when the SPDIF lights and stays on.

I cannot see any other LEDs on the MB. Shall there be some?

Ive done some blind testing as im pretty new to TV fixing.

DRV_ON for example in 0V in OFF, jumps to 1.5v when pressing power button and returns to 0v. This might explain the absence of 22v for the Panel

    Lg oled65b9dla

    Hi all,

ive got an OLED65B9DLA here which isnt showing any picture. When turned on, the PSU delivers appropriate Power, as soon as 20V to T-CON is due, it ramps up to 20V then immediately stops, going back to 0V.

When removing the ribbon cables from TCON to Mainboard, it doesnt do this.

The red standby Led is on the whole time.

Sound isnt working either when connected to a Laptop, it does show up as the correct device tho.

I have a service remote but cannot actually make use of it as the TV wont turn on (i think?).

  • Asus GL702VM Keyboard intermittently not working

    Hi,

so I have this one Asus GL702VM here where sometimes the Laptop has no signs of life after being turned off, hence no LED anywhere.

The Laptop was at a repair shop before with the note that the MB was defective but the part isnt available anymore.

Either way, if I remove the keyboard ribbon cable and short the pins, the laptop turns on, no problem. If i turn it off and put the KB cable back in i get no LED again.

If i turn the laptop on, put it in hibernation, plug the keyboard back in it works fine. No problems at all.

    The aforementioned...

  • Re: Medion Erazer not posting

Had a similar thought. Or a hot air gun at 500c.
Especially as the rubber from the CPU edges is missing. But idk if it was there to begin with. Just looked for a second opinion : D

Well, the CPU isn't shorted out, yet I don't waste any more time. I got it for the screen, so I'll only take the screen.

  • Medion Erazer not posting

    Hi all,

I have a medion erazer which has Fan spins and then turns off.

Ive noticed some corrosion (even tho water never touched the laptop) and a weird spot on the cpu die and behind the Socket... is dead dead?

  • Re: FX505DD REV 2 blowing MOSFETS

    Oh. Thanks for this information!
I cant help but think thats a stupid design but robably has its reasons. Just gotta know about it. Even tho I couldnt measure any voltage besides 20,5 and 3.3 on the coils

  • Where to source components from?

Where can you buy components such a MOSFETS from notebooks?
I found one seller but they have a ridicolous shipping fee (or big order)

im more or less looking for a vishay ZF906 MOSFET but different ones for sure are to follow.

  • Re: FX505DD REV 2 blowing MOSFETS

Im aware of this not being a very good Idea but do you mind elaborating?

The power shouldnt come very far when turned off as only the 3.3 power rail should be powered, isnt it?

  • FX505DD REV 2 blowing MOSFETS

    Hi all,

first of all: Sorry, im kinda new to board repairs. Ive managed to do some repairs before, yet I consider them quite easy (obviously).

A friend of mine had his tuf FX505 spilled with coke. It wasnt used anymore anyway so he gave it to me.

Ive cleaned the board, removed 2 MOSFETS at the CPU PSUs causing shorts all over the board. After I couldnt identify any more shorts, I felt confident in plugging the charger and see how far the juice comes. For a second i couldve sworn I saw smoke...

Then i saw the MOSFET at the Battery connector...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

    Hi guys,

im pretty new to this stuff and am still learning. I do so as I usually do, learning by doing.

I found pleasure in this as a hobby when I felt the satisfaction after I revived my moms phone (simply replacing a charging port and a an obviously blown cap). So i seeked for more.. you know that.
