Re: Dell DPS 1200MB A pinout

Check the voltage on the pins on the left side relative to ground.
One of them should have about 12V with the PSU plugged in. This is likely the 12V Standby (+12Vsb) rail.
And if this PSU uses active-low line for the PS-ON signal, then another of those small pins should show about 3-5V on it. If so, connect this pin to ground (via 100-1000 Ohm resistor, just to be safe) and the PSU should turn On.

But since I don't have this PSU and I am not 100% familiar with it, I suggest making a diagram to show which pin shows what voltage when the PSU is plugged into the wall. Then post the diagram here.

On that note, please use the forum's built-in image attachment function, so images don't get lost over time.

That's a Delta Products CRPS type power supply (CRPS = Common Redundant Power Supply). Here is a pin-out chart:

Pins B24 and B25 are "NC" on a Delta webpage print-out I have. Pins B19 and B20 are SMB address pins that use 3.3V logic levels. Grounding pin A21 should enable the power supply.

Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

I´ve put a resistor of 220 Ohms betwin these 3 pins and the psu goes ON.

Hello everyone! First of all I would like to thank you for the useful information that you are posting regarding the DPS 1200MB.
I have the same model and I managed to start with an output of 12V. I need to increase it to 14V and I am asking for your help if any one can help me with pictures or an advice.
                Thank you in advance!

Quick question on this topic, is anybody ever tried to run these 110V instead 220?
I have few of those and would like to use them with my Lipo Chargers, they output significant current which is perfect for high output chargers.

Only issue is they only works 220v, I couldn't find the schematics to further investigate this though. Thank you.

The P/S is rated for 200-277 VAC. Since modern server-grade power supplies are typically controlled by microcontrollers, you might or might not get 12VSB, and the main 12V may be kept disabled due to the low-line condition.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                      by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

                      Dell Inspiron 7501 / Vostro 7500 (2020) - eDP connector pinout/panel compatibility question
                      by pickledegg
Hello. I have an Inspiron 7501 here, it's the same as a Vostro 7500 in some markets (no clue). I was looking to replace the LCD, the panels included with these models are terrible.

I have the schematic and it is a 4 lane eDP port on the board but the pinout seems quite weird, my question is if anyone recognises this weird pinout and knows of any other Dell models that may use it or even any compatible panel models. I have the 40-40pin cable that was used for the models with touch but do not need touch capability, was just looking for a better quality screen and higher refresh to actually...

                      by Akhlz001
                      Hi,

Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...

I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:

Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.

The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...
