I used KZG's for output and KMG's for small capacities. Two 330uF KZG's used for output, too (for -12 and so). As I said, I'll watch them from time to time and maybe sometimes borow ESR meter...

They may be OK for now, as long as they are cooled well enough. Just keep an eye on them
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Yeah the fly resistor mod should keep them cool...

I even mounted the resistors on main heatsink in the second Fortron today (the FSP-300GT one), this one has fan controller and they would burn comonents around them with fan in slow mode.

I think you might be right then. I re-read you first post and noticed that you said the PSU whistled even before the recap.

That's strange. Changing the critical cap on 5vsb *usually* makes the voltage normal. Samxon RS and Chemicon KMG are good choices for the small caps too. You said it was 3.6v before the recap, correct? I'd definitely look into it. A faulty 5vsb can kill a motherboard. Just search for Bestec ATX-250 12E on here if you need examples .

Are not caps in PSU's almost only low-ESR ones anyway? I've been quiet surprised when I saw recommendations of caps which usually are in VRM's on motherboards as a replace for failed caps in PSU's.
Samxon RS are actually an excellent choice for PSUs since they are low ESR, but not too low. On the othe hand, Rubycon MBZ/MCZ, Chemicon KZG, and Nichicon HM/HN/HZ have really low ESR and shouldn't be used in PSUs. I know that some people here have done it with no problems, but PSU output circuits are tuned to a certain frequency, so generally it's not a good idea to deviate from the ESR of the original caps (unless of course the original caps were not adequate in the first place, such as what you might find in a really cheap PSU).

          Absolutely.

Heat more likely. This is how I got a few good PSUs - their fan seized and the caps bulged .

That would be interesting. Maybe even run the whole computer in mineral oil. I've seen people do it. If you put a Pentium 4 Prescott, you can even use it as a frier .

Note, I don't know if it's proper subforum or should I post in PSU one.

I am looking for schematics for two ATX PSUs: Seasonic G360 and FSP-350GLN.

            Hello.
I have here a Asus 32' curved display showing these lines.

A short clip of what shows when I turn it on.

Here are some pictures of the boards. Visualy they seem fine.

There are lots of videos on Youtube on possible solutions, but I could not find a similar problem with a similar board layout.
            Any help is appreciated.
            Thanx....

            Hisense TV 40A5600F Dead - Wan't start
            by sandrabrnelic
When powered on LED goes red indicating standby.
After pressing the power button LED blinks 6 or 7 times, i don't know do i need to count last led blinking because it's faster then previous 6 and remain's lit and in standby again. Nothing is visible on the screen, backlight is off all the time. All caps on board are looking visualy OK. 12V is present. Anyone has service manual or schematic for this TV or any ideas what could 6 blinks code mean.

Main board is RSAG7.820.9867, power supply is on same board.

Update: I think backlight is dead because voltage on backlight...

            Repairing Fortron Epsilon 600W
            by Brainless
            Hi,
I want to restore one old PSU. I found the main reason to not working. It was small cap (100uF/25V) on the Vdc bus going to the PWM controller. I replaced the cap with 470uF/25V (don't have currently 100uF) and PSU now works, tested under load with old GPU (ATi HD5830) and Furmark software. The replaced cap doesn't have any external signs of malfunction, even with capacitance meter is value is OK. But with it Vdc bus is ~11V and adding a small value like 4.7uF put the bus right, where it should be ~15.5V.
What currently doesn't like is the spikes on 12V and 5V buses. Please see...

Palit GTX 980TI working via a riser but not in x16 slot
            by mmx01
            Hi,

Interesting case, I have a gtx 980ti which suffered typical drmos failure. I replaced it together with 12V PEX switching transistors, all blown fuses etc. No shorts on vcore, vmem, pex or any other rails.

Yet the card does not give any sign of life when plugged into pcie x16 slot unless I plug it in via a mining riser?! I was troubleshooting it using riser as it is easier to measure etc. It worked so I assembled the card put in the computer and no post. When I move it to the riser it works again.

Checked all voltages on PCIE finger 12V, 3V3 while...
