    Re: Primary Filtering Insufficient?

I have no instruction manual for this power supply.
i'm not sure i'd trust a review from someone who needs a manual for a psu!!!

      Re: Primary Filtering Insufficient?

Looks like a wintech (not to be confused with win-tact, maker of some pc p&c), maybe a youngyear. Step above normal gutless wonders, just hope you didn't pay too much for it.

I see lots of input filtering, bridge rectifier, caps look to be larger value, PPFC, larger fans, decent sized heatsinks. Looks ok for what you are doing. Just try and keep the fans over about 50% with those caps.

But sure, post up some pics of your other psu and you can fix that one up. That way you get some practice, then you can recap this one if you like.

        Re: Primary Filtering Insufficient?

I paid About USD 80 for it.
        (stuff is very expensive here)

The reivew model is something different.

        I also GOT a User manual, 2 fans...And mine is 500w one.
BIOS showing voltages like- 12.282.....5.029.....3.334....So i guess its working fine.

Primary caps are 1000uF.... Small ones are about 2200uF branded Jenpo and KYS respectively. I'd say 2X bigger than older one.

OLD SMPS pics coming up later. (shall i start a new thread with appropriate title for it?)

            >>The reivew model is something different.<<

errm.... NO! Aside from a fan speed control and a 2nd fan, a see-thru case and a blue paint job, they're identical. It's a Atrix 500T.

            >>And mine is 500w one.<<
And so is the review model. He even states that after testing that it's hyped-up as 650w and that it is more realistically a 500w.

Put your 2nd image up against his 3rd and 5th images. Look familiar?
