    Jeantech JNP-500AP - Diode identification

This PSU was manufactured in 2004. I pulled this power supply out of a customers PC, plug it in, the 5vsb would come up and so would a high pitched whine.

Popped the lid and noticed a blown 100µf 25v cap and a 1000µf 16v. I've done a full re-cap on this, including the small caps (except three small ones near the primary side I can't get to).

I flipped it over to put it back together - (it has a PCB attached to a heatsink) and noticed a charcoal resistor.
I have another of these manufactured in 2006, but also upgraded to ATX V2.0.
I found the resistor colour of red, red, black, gold and replaced with one I had in a pack of resistors.

Powered it up but it still whined. Investigated the zener diode next to the resistor, it was cooked too. Since I couldn't read anything on the diode, I took it out of the working PSU. It says 27 on the top, 3 on the bottom.

    I can measure:
    Diode: 0.76
Resistence: 26-28 MΩ <- Not sure that's quite right...
    Volts in circuit: 16v

The resistor and diode are next to a 10uf 50v cap.

So, how do I work out what zener to replace it with? I can provide pictures of either PSU if required.

      probably 27v

but you really need to relace those small caps - dont say you can get to them.
you mean without desoldering the heatsinks & transistors/diodes.

yeah, those small ones are critical and have ruined otherwise good supplies. there is some really low uf 50v cap that falls into the category.

I'll have to de-solder the heatsinks and all attached bits and bobs then. Probably a weekend job.

            Lost Diode/Resistor RP802 MacBook Pro 2020 A2338 HELP
            by XxMicroSoldering
Hello Guys. Yesterday I was repairing a MacBook with no backlight. I noticed the resistor/diode RP802 is bad so I took it off. I also had a faulty motherboard that can't be repaired that had that resistor/diode on it (RP802). So it took the good RP802 off the faulty board. And when I had it on my tweezers it accidentally flew away. And now I don't know what to do. I 100% can't find it because of how small it is. Do you guys know any other diode/resistor that can work as the RP802

I'm a newbie to microsoldering and I'm still learning. All help is really appreciated

Please help me identify this zener diode.
I find it hard to see the datasheet. The diode was found on 14TB 3.5" WD HDD

I'm looking into having it replaced.

            Pictures attached...

Diode in parallel with resistor on battery charger
            by Dannyx
Good day folks. Today I had to work on a power supply/battery charger which had some parts arranged in a manner which intrigued me. It is a proprietary board that's part of an alarm panel and it also acts as a charger for a backup SLA battery. It's a very basic supply, with no proper battery management: have a look at the terminals and you'll immediately see how it works. There's a 14v output and there's a "BAT" output, which basically just ties the battery in parallel to the supply, but not directly, instead through a diode and resistor, as outlined on the doodles I did on the back....

            Diode identification for data rescue
            by MrBojangles
            Heyo

I'm trying to perform data rescue on this drive and don't want to make a mistake. I've found a burned diode and a shorted capacitor right next to it. I've found a component on eBay that seems to match up. Can someone confirm please? Also I don't mind replacing it with a compatible component if it's easy to get hold of.
