I put the original resistance back on, I continue to have a maximum of two volts on the 12v which then goes away and I again have the short on the 5v and no sign of voltage, we are ready to goComment

take that brown goo off (between that green and yellow cables) that brown goo can get conductive over time and messes things up. So anywhere you see this brown stuff, remove it.Comment

I found a power supply to buy the same for 10 euros, if I can't solve it I can do some tests with the working one, meanwhile in the afternoon I try to understand where this short comes fromComment

I can't see much of a problem on the output side, bedsides the -5V and -12V having two extra (smaller) diodes per rail and that is about it.
So I guess the feedback circuit next.
What short are you talking about now?Comment

I always have the short on the 5v that does not go away, I removed the heatsink with the schottky diodes I removed the inductance, and the short remains, I have to see what else to remove to understand where the short is on the 5 volts, in the previous message I wanted to tell you that I bought a second hand equal power supply to help me solveComment

I'm trying it on the outside, by bridging the green wire with gnd, I've tried to disconnect all the resistende, capacitors and zener diodes that are on the way of the red wire but the short does not go awayComment

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited... -
Laptop is HP Envy x360 13-bf0013dx, hp website link, it's an i7-1250U with 8 gig onboard ram.

Originally you'd plug power supply into it and it would take up to 1.2 amps and then drop to 200 milliamps and then go back up again to 1.2, staying all the while at 5 volts. Pressing power button would results in power LED blinking amber 3 times. 3.3 volt rail, 5.1 volt rail present, main power rail 8.8 volts. Power button test pads near EC chip 2.7 volts.

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.
It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

Hi everyone,
I am dealing with the problem of turning on and off my Dell e7470 notebook.
The battery charge light is solid white, I press the button, the power indicator and the light on the button are solid for 1-2 seconds and immediately turn off.
The system does not turn on, there is no post.
I removed the RAMs and changed them, changed the battery, RTC battery, AC adapter, removed them and waited, tried again, it does not turn on.
The problem continues in the same way.
