please help identify burnt resistor, repairing EMACS PSU

    Hi All,
I am currently repairing an EMACS PSU model: PSA-6700P with a burnt resistor. If anybody can provide a schematic that would be great. Currently the PSU dont have an output after triggering the PS_on. I have found a lot of high ESR caps. The only short I found was the schottky diode just behind the burnt resistor. I have traced this resistor to be connected to the 5v standby.

    Thanks in advance!

Have you removed and checked the resistor value? it could be that due to heat the outer coating cracked and fell off but the resistor is still ok.
Do you have the 5 volt standby voltage?

Please also provide the straight shot pictures of the whole bottom and top side of the board.

        Hello Again,
The value of the resistor is 16 ohms. Im not sure if this is the original value. From the transformer, it entered the schottky and resistor and out into the inductor to the 5v standby wire.
I missed to measure the 5v standby that day I checked for the output, but I checked the transformer, it is not open.
Anybody got an equivalent schematic for this kind of PSU base on the picture below?

I cannot tell from your low res picture to see if that resistor is connected in series with the rectifier diode or not. They usually use fusible resistor (2.2 ~ 4.7 Ohms) in series with the rectifier, but I cannot tell from the picture.

If you have bad caps, chances are the 5VSB wasn't regulating properly and that's one possibility why that resistor burned up. So first order of business, get all bad caps replaced. Then try to measure the 5VSB. If 5VSB is present and stable, then try to see if PSU can come on.

              LED uplighter dimmer burnt resistor
              by CG2
I've got a 240v LED uplighter which isn't working. Pulling it apart shows a clearly burnt resistor on the circuit board, and I'm hoping some of you will have suggestions on what to replace it with. First, here are some photos. Power comes in, through the fuse and choke, then through the big blue variable resistor labelled B500K (ignore the similar blue component at the bottom - it's a simple switch for an attached reading lamp). It then passes through the burnt resistor (or at least did once), through diac DB1 and the unburned 30 ohm resistor to the gate of the triac. Now I assume there's a simple...

Allen & Heath Xone:02 (DJ Mixer) - Burnt out Resistor
              by trickartt
              Hello Badcaps!

I am trying to troubleshoot my Allen & Heath Xone:02 DJ mixer. I have had this for somewhere close to 20 years and have played music through it in one form or another pretty much every single day since I've had it, though these days it's usually from a wireless streaming receptacle (Apple Airport) more than the turntables that are also connected to it.

This week my music stopped working, and after a bit of a wild goose chase, I realised my mixer was dead. I checked the 500mA fuse in the device beside the power supply and found it was blown, so I replaced...

identify this burnt element on ZOTAC GeForce RTX 2060
              by fraser34
              Hi,

Can anybody, please, help to identify this burnt element on ZOTAC GeForce RTX 2060 6GB 192BIT GDDR6?
It says something like "6UDN..." on it.

              Thanks...

Zotac GTX 260 burnt component - can anyone identify?
              by dicky96
              Hi guys
This Zotac GTX 260 had a high side MOFET on one Vcore VRM phase short circuit Drain to Gate (Not short Drain to Source)

This has burnt out the drive IC L3E (ADP3110A) and also an SOT-23 device very close to the driver IC. According to the PCB markings 'Dxxx' this is likely to be a diode.

Basically the VRM has 4 phases, two powered from one 6 way connector and two powered from the other 6 way

I would assume each pair of phases are basically identical, the burnt out phase has SOT-23 devices WW1 plus the burnt one.

              The good phase...

              by thesame
Hy guys , i have a DVR board DS-80104 REV 2.2 that was powered wrong, i have some smds on the board that are blown and i can't identify them , maybe if someone has this board somehow and we can identify the smds', i have searched online and i can't find a schematic.
The smds are SOT-23-6 , one of them i think it has the marking ADJF since i found another one on the board with this marking , but the other one it seems that it starts with AG or it looks like. I would really apreciate if someone could help me identify those IC's .
