Rubycon ZLQ is ok for computer power supply 5 volt rail

    I am recapping a computer power supply ( this one I posted a while back https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ht=Sam_sam_sam )
and having a problem with the size diameter is a 8 mm but a 10 mm would fit but it will be tight fit and how tall it is not a problem

I could put in a 10 volt one in but this more for information more than anything

I think I use to have some 8 mm ones but I used them all and I can find any more of them

8 mm diameter would be better but I can not find any at all with this value
With low ESR values FR FC KY KZE or any other ones that I have used before

3300@ 6.3 and 10 volts 8 mm is what is in there now the one that is in it now is a Crapon and has pop it’s top

If you want 6.3V and 3300uF you will have to use a 10mm... ZLQ only has 2200uF in 8mm.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Assuming...

Using a 5 volt @ 12 amp switching power supply and two USB doctor volt / amp meter to three IPads on one power supply
        by sam_sam_sam
I have been wanting to do this project for some time using a Mean-well switching power supply that I bought at least ten of them that were originally in a device that was abandoned for some reason they were listed new but removed from equipment that was never used

I do not understand Mean-well the capacitor next to the voltage reference ic chip was a brand that is known for failure over time the other capacitors are brand name needless to say it got replaced before I even powered it on for the first time

I used a four USB outlet and electrical plate that is made for...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

        After all of...

I am in need of a 21 volt switching power supply with at least 5 amp capacity
        by sam_sam_sam
I would be open to a 24 volt @ 5 amp switching power supply that can be adjusted down to 21 volts permanently and the over load protection is still functional and low voltage cutoff 15 volt or higher if necessary

I would rather not have to use a buck converter to get the voltage that I need

So is anyone else that has successfully modify one for a slight lower voltage had good results willing to share with me the safest way to accomplish this task

I googled for a 21 volt switching power supply and did not find very much information for switching power supply...

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
        by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...
