Re: VStanby (V SB) question ?
ok I'll have a look on it...if this caps fail...everything shuts down ?

Re: VStanby (V SB) question ?
could be the capacitors on the standby output - they fail a hell of a lot because they run 24/7 and there is no cooling in standby because the fan stops.Leave a comment:

Re: VStanby (V SB) question ?
2.5v can it be a bad coupler? I replace diode and now it's 5v I can hear high pitch tone when it turns on. The cause is a short FET on motherboard...do u reckon? Can it be the secondary rectifying diode is faulty?Leave a comment:

VStanby (V SB) question ?
Guys,
If V Standby (V SB) on ATX PSU is less than 5V,
Is it the cause of Power Supply can not be turned on ?
I see the diode on 5V SB is 0.1V on Vf diode test on DMM diode test...even I reverse the polarity....suppose to be OL on reverse and about 0.3V-0.7V normally..
Any clues ?Last edited by bianchi77; 08-30-2016, 07:07 PM.Tags: None

by BasteHello experts,
Can anyone educate me on how to test MBR3045CT and SR3045LCT Schottky diodes? I'm totally a newbie in electronics, so forgive me if I have cheap tools. In my effort to repair a Gigabyte PSU, I stumbled upon the two diodes, which I suspect are leaky. I tested this with my two cheap multimeters and the newly bought LCR-T4 MC328, and I got confusing results. Below are my test results.

by capriderHello,
I am troubleshooting a power supply.
When measuring a FCL30A015 diode it shows 35 Ohm when reverse biased and 0.05 forward voltage.
See attached.
The datasheet does say "Extremely Low Forward Voltage Drop": https://www.alldatasheet.com/datashe...FCL30A015.html
But 0.05V seems to low.
Is it gone?
Should I perform some other test?... -
by asrHello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks.... -
by unimatrix93Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.
So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.
Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.
The led strips has 9 6V leds.

by NicRacHello everybody☺️ I am glad to be here and looking forward to a good discussion.
First of all, I am new here. Therefore I will shortly introduce myself.
I am Nico and currently I study Physics.
In my freetime I like to build and repair stuff. Especially big battery's.
A few years ago I got myself an electric unicycle, monowheel or however you call that.
The battery bms was broken so I replaced and resolder that. Nothing big.
I used this thing for some years and had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I used it last time in heavy rain. Usually everything...5 Photos - Loading...
