So the IC might be okay?
So is the diode, even there is a short from both sides?
And why the diode or the coil are getting that hot? Where exactly is the power coming from?
From the big capacitors on the left side, right?

Therefore the IC is broken aswell?
But why should there be an overvoltage? Because of the water damage, the short circuit, or maybe the coil? Could this be enough reason to overload the IC?

First of all, I am new here. Therefore I will shortly introduce myself.
I am Nico and currently I study Physics.
In my freetime I like to build and repair stuff. Especially big battery's.
A few years ago I got myself an electric unicycle, monowheel or however you call that.
The battery bms was broken so I replaced and resolder that. Nothing big.
