What is the version of that Boardview? I have the same model, but the version is MS-7D97 v1.0. I don't see the components mentioned on my board. I made a separate post regarding help with BoardView MS-7D97 v. 1.0. Could you please point me to a download link?...Leave a comment:

MSI Mag B660M mortar max wifi DDr4 ms-7D97 v1.0 Boardview need help.
Happy holidays, everyone,
I acquired an MSI Mag B660M mortar max wifi DD4 ms-7D-97 v1.0. I'd like to give this Mobo a second chance. The owner said it's a dead board. Upon checking, I saw there are missing parts on the back side; it's now soldered or heated, looks like it got bumped or something. Anyway, the issue is that I can't find the BoardView of this version, ms-7D97 v1.0. The one available MS-7D42 v1-1 does not match this one, especially the parts that are missing ๐ช. Can anyone point me to a download link?... -
Quick update:
Been away for a while, my son got hospitalised, but we are home now. To answer the questions, I changed the 1/4 watts to 1/2, which fits snuggly (Red, red, gold, gold ), and the thing fired up.
.
I agree with you, I forgot to mention in the post that I found some kind of bug or small insects inside when I first opened the PSU that might have contributed to the resistor short.
I'm no expert, I think you're right that the resistor goes to the relay, which is part of the PWM.

What are the pro's and cons of replacing a 1/4 with a 1/2 resistor same ohms?
Hello,
As the title says. I bought a cheap Asus ROG Strix 750-watt PSU, which was posted as defective. Cables are complete, and the entire PSU is in good condition, of course, aside from being faulty. Long story short, upon checking, there is no +5VSB. Looking at the components, I found a blown resistor. I swear, looking at the bands, the color is pink, pink, gold, gold. I dunno if I'm color blind or this is the way resistors are coded.
Please help, did I decode it correctly at 2.2 ohms (red, red, gold, gold), or what could a pink, pink, gold gold value be? I bought a... -
MBR3045CT and SR3045LCT Schottky diode testing help.
Hello experts,
Can anyone educate me on how to test MBR3045CT and SR3045LCT Schottky diodes? I'm totally a newbie in electronics, so forgive me if I have cheap tools. In my effort to repair a Gigabyte PSU, I stumbled upon the two diodes, which I suspect are leaky. I tested this with my two cheap multimeters and the newly bought LCR-T4 MC328, and I got confusing results. Below are my test results.

Hello momaka,
Great in depth with this PSU. I have a similar one which I bought as defective. I've been working on this for several weeks now. It came to me dead, no power at all. I replace the fuse, the two JCS18n50 in the APFC to no avail. After digging more I found out that Q1 and Q2 is shorted, so I changed them, now I have +5Vsb but still not turning on. After more hours and digging it looks like IC3 CM6805BG is shorted ( GND and VCC has a 8ohms reading) and C10 has blown. I have ordered replacement for the IC but I dunno what is the value of C10. The closest I found is that C10 could...Last edited by Baste; 09-22-2025, 02:23 AM.Leave a comment:

Replacing a bad Cap with higher value.
Hello experts people,
First time poster but lurking the Forums for few days now. I'm a beginner hobbyist who's trying to fix what ever I can and learned along the way. Right now what I have is a busted 58inch LCD TV with backlight issue. Long story short, I kinda found the issue (or atleast on the right track) it's on the power board with bad caps (broken pin). It seems an easy fix, just replace it with the same one and away it goes, but for whatever reason I cannot find the exact value in my place or online store in my country. The bad Cap is 39uf 450volts in parallel. The...1 Photo -
