oh hi man nice to see you, ok ye the back lights did not work at all so i opened up and 3 leds had blown so i replaced and tested all worked, but when i now turn thre tv on it will flash the back leds on for a fraction of a second then there off, tv works and displays if i shine a light on it to see, i tested that resistor and those resin caps and none of them have any reading at all so i assume there the problem, but hard to id them.

it does the normal jump up to around 90 then falls off to around 24, the return does nothing until that the red wire power falls to 24 then the return shows 4 then slowly drops to 0 again

ok that makes some sense then, they do only light up when 3 volts is passed they dont light up if i try 1.5 volt but im new to this so watt must matter here then, i will strip it back down and test them again to see, in the mean time are those caps i mentioned and that resistor ok not having any reading even if i take them off the board

trying to find new leds from the likes of rs components ,mouser etc is hard as the colour is usually hard to match and also the size and amps etc, reece has the best idea use ebay for used led strips and use the stacking method reece has a youtube video on it. take a picture of the led strips used in your set i may have some out of a smashed screen sets.

ye iv watched that video and from it i was able to unsolder tiny leds from a laptop and solder them without melting them onto the strip so no need to stack, also they have evry colour at rs iv checked i can get 2700k upto 7000k and white is usualy 7000k, i cant aford those dear leds of ebay as i mentioned im on a very tight budget until my software company makes money, that could take years, which is why i thought i would learn how to fix tv's for some extra income as i getting quite thin LOL.

vince the led strip are the same as in that video as its the same set with the same vestel boards and setup only difference is this is rev 4 board and they took some caps out and replaced it with some kind of stealth chip that is a trasistor with the middle leg cut off so what ever those leds are i have the same.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Assistance with identifying resistor value on 820-02918 A2992 board?

Working on a 2023 M3 A2992 unit with 820-02918 board, and it uses a new USB-C power architecture, with rectangular controllers. I do not have a perfect-matching board, so have been repairing this one the old-fashioned way (slowly).

I managed to blow-away a single resistor that I can't find and can't determine the value of. It connects to ground, so I went ahead and stuffed it with a 100K resistor in case it's a simple pull-up. But, I'm now having issues with that side of the board, and am curious if it's possibly related to this resistor! I have no schematics and no board view, so...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                          • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                                          • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

                                          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
