Sorry I forgot attaching the pics of the PSU.
The trouble is that most of the specifications omits just the ESR.
Anyway the CapXon series is GF except for the 12 rail, which is KF.
Yes, I am aware that good caps are rather expensive, but Momaka encouraged me to repair this PSU.
As regards the motivation of recapping, I explained it in another thread about Technoware recapping.

Pls take a look at the series used...
A 'CapXon' cap can be anything from a 'GP' KM series, to a high end FH series...
Same with the other caps...
It's important to get the ESR value right...
Besides:
Do you want to do it because of fun and learning or do you want to 'improve' the PSU?
If you don't want to do it just for fun, it may be better to buy a new, better PSU because it's cheaper...
Because those caps aren't that cheap. You can expect about 10€ for all of them, besides the primary one...
That one alone costs about 2,5€/piece...
Besides: 180uF/400V caps are something found in rather small PSUs in the 300W range...Leave a comment:

Recapping of Corsair VS450
Hi,
for a year I have got a still working Corsair VS450 PSU. While searching in this section I have found some traces of this topic in several threads but no specific one. Encouraged by your comments and my curiosity I opened it (so forgetting about its warranty) and discovered that it has been capped by poor quality only capacitors, which of course I would recap.
While I am not 100% confident of the respective rails (sorry I am still an amateur novice), here is the whle list of the capping:
Filter: 1x Aishi 180uF, 400V
Primary: 2x JunFu 2x 220uF, 25V + 2x JunFu 2x 4.7uF, 50V
Secondary:
5VSB Rail: 1x Capxon 2200uF, 10V + 1x Aishi 1000uF, 16V
3.3V Rail: 1x Capxon 2200uF, 10V + 1x Capxon 2200uF, 6.3V
5V Rail: 2x Aishi 1000uF, 16V
12V Rail: 2x Capxon 2200uF, 16V
-12V Rail: 1x Capxon 2200uF, 16V
Others (PWM, fan etc): 2x JunFu 2x 2.2uF, 50V + 1x Aishi 1000uF, 16 + 2x Capxon 100uF, 16V
My purpose is to replace every cap with the IDENTICAL ones but of good quality (and low ESR in the secondary zone), any suggestion?
Moreover, some questions arise:
1. is the capacitance of the filter big cap high enough (180uF), or should I consider (if it is possible) to increase it?
2. how is it possible to put together caps of different voltages besides different capacitances as I saw in some rails of this PSU?Tags: None

by RukyConHello Again, so i'm bringing back this Zumax PSU from the gutless thread and going to be doing some modifications, and also putting it into a PC i'm going to throw together out of spare parts to see how long it lasts.
So the first thing i did was fill in the missing filtering, by replacing the cheap common mode choke with a real one and adding a 470nf X2 capacitor in the open capacitor spot, i then replaced the fake Y-class capacitors with real ones, i also swapped out the mismatched primary caps with a pair of Aishi WK 470uf 200v caps, both of which test around 520uf. by hobostoveHey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.
Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.
There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.
The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.
It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284... - Loading...
