Trying to build one
I have one but it has to much power to is for use on a battery tap welding

It has one the part is SKT491/04D which was cross over to a SKT493/18E
you have to buy 6 of them @$600.00

I was thinking about building one, and the trouble I had was ... getting the capacitors. The SCR was intended for cap discharge welders.

I ended up backtracking and thinking about another way of doing this and was wondering what I can do with 100+ amps... Not quite as much as a capacitive discharge welder but still significant...

You could possibly get the caps from an old UPS system, or the like. People on fleabay sell large caps for reasonable prices (of course, they are usually used)
