the one i use with that 8d agm is an 850va best power.
the apc 12v units of that era are good too.
i tap into the logic and install a switch transistor to run a fan only in inverter mode.
add a lighter socket,panel mount powerpoles,breaker,and white led nightlight and you have a very long run system and capability to run 12v stuff.here it is in use off grid at our clubs field day site.the battery is being charged by solar panels not visible in this pic.

cyberpower stuff is cheap and built on the edge componant wise.
most i see including the apc units they build are not worth fooling with.the transformers are even junk.i put a new battery in one for a neighbor a while back and the board was dark in the charger area.it works but it gets real hot at full load on battery.

Concentrating on UPSes, I would like to know what is most likely to fail when the battery fails from age. This is the most likely fault to happen, you would think safeties would be built in, but maybe no, sell new ones.
I collect these victims. Upon visual examination I don't see any blown diodes, burnt traces, or any easy visual clues. The transformer is usually not burnt or too smelly (what's the rule, no smell, a little smell ok?).
Currently I'm looking at a Cyber Power 625 AVR, new battery, seemed to work, but came back from customer failed, beeping. Three beeps. There was some evidence of heat around a voltage regulator, I checked it off board, seems to be ok, but gets real hot, and then the unit trips off, beeps. I pulled all but the smallest caps, AOK.
One thing I have learned is that small UPS units don't like printers on the battery driven outlets. Apparently printers draw too much. I'm going to advise my customer to move her printer to the surge-only side. Makes sense, these are only 300 watt or so units. A big HP inkjet printer and a big Mac may be too much.
With all the power failures here, UPS units are necessary. Any help from the group would be greatly appreciated.

First post and digging up an old one!

I have a Smart UPS 700 within identical symptoms. No lights/beeps/etc....

I have a few of these (with known good batteries) kicking around so I grabbed one of those battery trays to test with. Unfortunately, that didn't help.

Anyone know where to get schematics? I see I can get one of these for ~$30 (working) on eBay but I like to tinker. Unfortunately, I've lost my "troubleshoot without schematics" skills over the years. I see no physical issues (burnt parts, bulging caps, etc). It appears there is no power in the "logic area" (e.g. processors, etc).

Any ideas?
