Well....
This is the first time I have used this part
So.. we will see if it does the trick
Will do load testing and see how this plays out
Have another of the same PSU model (and got a working delta)

Update
This unit had a bad Q1
I replaced D2 and ZD6 anyway
Replaced Q1 with a 350mW part
Seems to be ok again
Now... load testing
Any thoughts on using an ATX go/no go PSU tester
with the cables mapped to the Apple PSU?
Ok... before people start saying no; this is just for
future use with these PSU, before, that is,
I get my hands dirty

Y - recapped the PSU
All of them except the main large can lytics for the primary and PFC
Someone had been there before me - did part of the job
Funny, post recap
Got the unit to start (with 15-16 jumpered)
Now it won't - very odd....
So will check Q1 and ZD6 - thx
Does the earth tag in the PSU need attachment to the PSU case?
It was not with this PSU
Will get the PSU right before the logic board recap

Seems the IR is ok.
Did originally test this under flu tubes in the kitchen.
However...
This unit is going into protect at slightly high volumes say 9.45 - 10 pm
Odd.
I did check all of the O/P for main L & R out of cct. - these test ok
I replaced the O/P for the centre and rear - transistors and drive.
Maybe the speakers (small Sony midi hifi unit types) are difficult to drive

Have an issue with CPU support on this
There are two mobos available
399971-001 410426-001 for earlier dual core only CPU systems
436356-001 436718-001 for later dual and quad core CPU systems
I have a 399971-001
This runs ok with 2 of Xeon 5050 (dual core) - 4 cores in total
Also runs ok with 1 of Xeon E5335 (quad core) - 4 cores in total
Will not run with 2 of E5335 - just hangs
All voltage LEDs read green
Have update to latest BIOS
Before I go any further with testing

The picture of the pot - second pdf only illustrates
the type of pot and mech. footprint I require.
Trust me, the damaged pot is destroyed beyond repair.
But where can I get the correct pot?
The leftmost three switches in the second pdf are damaged
The plastic blue material is the internals of each switch
A normal switch, black colour can be seen to the right
I know these switches are broken, they do no mechanically

Rec'd this item as damaged.
The item has been dropped.
This is a project for the kids bedroom (when fixed).
The front panel source selection pcb has been broken.
It is only a single side pcb so, I should be able to repair this.
I am having issues however with sourcing replacement parts.
These include;
1. A number of source selector switches
2. A balance pot
There is a loudness knob missing on the front as well
as the Volume control knob. Both the pots and the
mech. fixings are in place though.... -

Have advised client, it would be best to prepare an
insurance report as unit is beyond economical repair.
I don't want to waste money stripping this unit to
replace lamps. It has damage to the LCD panel
(a scratch) and would realise little (if any) resale
value.
This is a really cheap TV. Client should be able
to get replaced with contents insurance.
May use parts for the purpose of testing CCFLs etc.

Been some time
Have been passed a Dual DLCD2001 20 inch widescreen LCD TV for repair.
This experiences loss of backlight but has video and sound.
However, the odd thing is when I change channel or use AV, the backlight
will momentary come back on and go off again
Everything else with this set appears to be ok otherwise.
Anyway, suspected bad caps and found the usual suspects with
bad ESR. These were around the PSU and these have all been replaced
with Pana FM. Additionally, I found both of the only lytic caps on... -

Can anybody help with Technics Service Manuals?
I live in the UK and have acquired;
1 of SL-P222A CD Player with optical O/P
1 of SA-GX200L Receiver
The CD player appears to be ok
I have serviced the decent Philips CDM4/19 transport
Will probably use a modern DAC with it, if it O/Ps S/PDIF - should do.
The receiver is only playing mono.
Appears the balance control is not working correctly
It is a bit scratchy - so deoxit or replacement
Any help appreciated -

Replacement for KA5M0165R
Need this for a DVD/Karaoke open frame PSU repair.
This is a Fairchild part no longer in production.
The recommended replacement by Fairchild is a FSDM0265RN.
This latter part uses pin 5 whereas the former does not.
However, it appear for US import purposes (something
I will not be doing!) there is a court finding document
against Fairchild on the website prohibiting use of these
and other PWM parts as they have found to have infracted
the patents of a competitor.
Any help here as to a replacement?
