    Syncomp 1990 200W

Syncomp, looks like it's from 1990

    Dirty inside but works fine

The machine with PSU removed, the board was probably upgraded as it's dated 1994

The board - AMD 386SX/40, 4MB RAM, ALi chipset

    Bottom side of PSU PCB

    PSU PCB after some cleaning

    470uF SAMHWA input caps

    JPCE-TUR output caps

Can you see that small Panasonic cap? The other small ones are Rubycon.

Nice clean PSU back in its case

Do you pronounce the H in Samhwa?
I still have a couple of those with the paddle switch on the side.
I love the feel of that cluncker switch when you turn it on,
it's like starting an old truck with a foot switch.

There's a real classic. good to see old AMD's, well old machines in general, still going.

Today's power buttons don't have any feel to them. Even old AT front switches, and the better spring-loaded ATX ones, beat today's cheesy pushbuttons.
You know there's something wrong when you open up a PSU and are glad to find Teapos.
Why I don't buy cheap cases!

you cleaned it up well....... looks brand new

Gee they even spent money on warning stickers...wow

These days they throw out half the protect, suppression circiuts

I am sometimes amazed that things still work with the amount of dust that gets into them.
dust an moisture not a good mix

Memories like the.....you all know the words sing along now

I still got my old VZ300 kicking around somewhere here (Z80 CPU what a beast LOL)

Luckily, most of the dust came out easily with vacuum cleaner. And the rest is manual work.
