    Nanopoint(Tagan)

Ive had a few Tagan's myself, but Ive never used the Nanopoint, and Ive never had to replace one either. What really gets me is their claim to fame of having "The world's most powerful PSU"This is from their own mouth. They have a 1100 watt PSU with 4-12v rails at 20 amps each for 259$Whats wrong with this picture? I would love to see a shoot out between PC P&C 1100W and the Enermax Galaxy 1000W VS. the Tagan!Come on JG,lets see it!

Yeah these units look and perform alot better then some of Top Powers other offerings, I am considering buying one.

I see sometimes old "TOP MOTOR" fans - clear plastic ones on Socket 7 CPUs - many of them are still working fine.

Dynaeon is pretty huge. Used to be ODM for AMD retail box CPU's. That's why you saw so many of them way back when.

It's going to take a lot to change my impression of Topower. Always fairly decent construction, but horrible voltage regulation. The OCZ520ADJSLI is about the only Topower I'm happy with.

            Oh well... we'll see.
Rest in peace BFG. You were... a job...

Actually these new Tagans have independant regulation much like the OCZ models, I wish you could get your hands on one and do some testing for us. The review that CAD4466HK took those pics from tested that 1100w unit and all the rails seemed extreamly stable but I am sure you could test it much more indepth.

What OCZ models? The Modstream and Powerstream crossloaded like a mother. Only the ADJSLI was somewhat solid and it would still react a bit to a severe crossload.

Besides, independent regulation doesn't help when you load a 12V rail up from 3A to 20A and see a .3V drop. I knew a guy that got a 900W against everyone's recommendation and he only kept in his machine for two days. Stated that the voltage difference he saw going from idle to load and during heavy CPU usage (yes, using a DMM) made him nervous.

I wish I could get my hands on one too, because until I see a reason to suggest otherwise, anything Topower is on my shit list.

The Powerstreams/P6's were definitely indy. The only one I've seen that really regulated properly though was Oleg's 470W sample at Xbit. His first gen 520W was all over the place when he crossloaded it too much. Actually that early 520W is the only PSU I can recall where people would come to OCForums and complain that they had two or three die... in a row. Many were RMA replacements IIRC.
