What kind of drive did you have in there?

I see the PSU is rated for 2A. Did you know that 7200RPM Seagates pull anywhere between 2.6 and 2.8A?!?! Wow!
Rest in peace BFG. You were... a job...

Well, JPtur caps don`t like heat for some reason . So not very surprised that those are gone. If keept cool like in most Enermax PSU`s they will last.
Is the drive afekted from the probably high ripple current?

A1312 (27” iMac 2009-2011) A1407 (Thunderbolt Display) A1316 (Cinema Display) Display Black Screen Repair

        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Possbility of data recovery, is it true?
        by kingiii
Hello, A customer told us that there is a data recovery company that can by pass IMac pro 2020 with t2 chipset GPU to get their data back, I am wondering if that is possible. GPU is shorted and Imac wont boot at all. I informed customers that data are almost impossible to be retrived, and they are upset and think we are BS them. Of course being up in Canada, people like to believe that usa will have a better solution for it, a US data recovery company they searched on google told customer that they could get the data back without needing worry about T2 chip or Imac not working all that, I do not...

Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?
        by flibidy
I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

Can anyone identify the classification of this data signal?
        by mscottdoran@gmail.com
Hi, I'm an elevator technician. The attached oscilloscope display picture is from a digital elevator hall arrival lantern data signal. We have been having problems with “ghost signals” causing intermittent hall arrival lanterns to illuminate randomly when the elevator is not actually due to arrive at the floor.

The tech support of the hall arrival board manufacturer (CE Electronics) is blaming the elevator controller manufacturer (MCE), and the tech support of the elevator controller blames the hall arrival board manufacturer.

The boards are powered by a ground referenced...

Maytag Whirlpool Kenmore clothes dryer data bus
        by Joe24
Patient is a Maytag/Whirlpool/Kenmore clothes dryer. Not sure of exact model, doesn't matter. All boards are out of production.

Specific problem is a Maytag 8544799 / WP8544799 motor-control board, aka Diehl Controls 708879-05. Customer states the board "doesn't work, motor doesn't run". Not sure how the repairman made that assessment, or if it's even accurate. He can't get replacement boards, and the owner decided to buy a new dryer, so whether this board is the problem is speculation on his part. Again, doesn't matter.

I've been over the board looking for...
