Strange Lelon cap in a APC Back-UPS CS

Curious as I am, I decided to have a look into one of my UPS as the battery was bad and needed replacement. There were not much capacitors in it at all, mostly Jamicon and this strange Lelon which I can´t seem to find any data on the net at all .... It´s a 450V 10 uF radial and not bulged or bad in any way, just curious if I choose to replace it later for fun

    What do you guys think?

iirc thats the one that leaks and burns a hole in the board.sometimes causes a fire.
check the recall status of your unit.

The TNY chip on the right is a switching power supply, doing about 4-10 watts of power.
Basically AC goes through the 4 diodes on the left and gets rectified to AC x 1.41, goes through the 10uF capacitor, then into the tny chip and out comes something like 5-12v @ 1-2 A

So there's no high frequency there, it's just 100-120 Hz, the capacitors shouldn't be stressed too much with ripple... I think your only concern should be that the circuit is probably running 24/7 and the diodes near the capacitor may be hot and drying out the capacitor in time.

Hmm, really? I have a dozen of these at various locations, even at work

I don´t think APC will recall/replace my particular as they are several years old now? I rather change the capacitor myself

To the problem - data about the RXF. It looks like Lelon low esr series but how necessary is this when it´s a high voltage capacitor with only 10 uF capacitance? Can I replace this with a UCC KMG or is there a better choice?

Interesting info mariushm, I suspected it´s the primary cap but now I´m sure.

I´m a bit puzzled regarding Lelon and their quality, especially as they begin to turn up in industrial electronics at work (the paper-less recorder Eurotherm 6100A for example which we have plenty of), even Teapos are beginning to show up in high quality german PSU´s....

"The affected units were manufactured between November 2000 and December 2002. The units were sold primarily through computer and electrical distribution, catalog and retail outlets worldwide. "

              Curious - clock going ahead
              by televizora
I've encountered curious and strange issue with HP Probook 8470p - the clock is constantly going ahead without any reason at all.
If I try to synchronize it, everything is fine, but after hour or two I notice that the clock is again 9-12 minutes ahead.
That's extremely weird. Logically, I checked the time zone and DST - everything is fine there.
That's only if the laptop was put in hibernation and then turned on again. If it was turned off and then on - everything is fine.
              Any suggestions?

How good are lelon caps ? I see some people install RGA Lelons currently. Also could see some old posts where lelons are reffered as the badcaps.

              A curious LED lamp...
              by eccerr0r
I found a LED "sealed beam" 2-terminal floodlight bulb, about 4" diameter, that apparently is 6W at 12V. It's fairly bright, but that's not what was interesting. Looking into the diffuser lens, it didn't have a typical yellowish fluorescent material in it that's typically used for LEDs to make white lamps.

Odd I thought, but when I powered it up it became apparent what was going on - this lamp is a RGB LED lamp using distinct LEDs! What was weirder...

At 6V, it lit up red with their lowest Vf.
Then at ~8V it lit up yellow when the green LEDs turned...
