Re: Flashing LED backlight on a LG 60LB650V
Yup, either that or some white paint. I guess it must be reflective in some way too?...

Flashing LED backlight on a LG 60LB650V
Hi respected members of this forum,
I've just received a LG 60LB650V LCD (PSU board EAX65423801) that has a flashing backlight. It flashes about every second with one dim flash and the second with full brightness. When the menu is showing on the screen is seems intact without any dark areas. I´ve searched for info about this and most (out of few) cases it was due to bad LED strips which needed replacement. However, my sympthom isn´t quite the same with that dim/bright/dim/bright cycling.
Also worth mensioning is that the voltage on the connector out to the LED strips...Last edited by imp; 10-06-2019, 12:09 PM.

Re: Record uptime for a HP L1955?
kc8adu,
no it stays like that. Wonder if the engineers knew about which capacitors it would have in production and put a 5 digit uptime timer limit

Record uptime for a HP L1955? :)
What do you say guys, 99999+ hours uptime for a L1955? Still bright CFL's and the only thing I´ve done to it is a preventative change of the original Elite capacitors to Sanyo/Suncon
Pretty cool ey?...

Looking for the video with flickering LED´s
Hi, I´m looking for the video a badcaps forum user (from Germany I´m pretty sure) posted one or two years ago. It shows LED´s in slow motion, mostly outdoors, with the the song The Last Battle - Medwyn Goodall in the background.
I´ve been trying to find it on youtube (where it exists) in every way I can think of without luck
Hope you guys can help me.

Re: LG 50PZ570W plasma constant red screen
Please see the attached clip (hope it works, otherwise please tell me), I get clear screens with several different colours without distorsion, next step is to find a new motherboard I guess?

Re: LG 50PZ570W plasma constant red screen
ReeceyBurger123, you mean the large lvds-cable on the right side of the control board? No else than this one?

Re: LG 50PZ570W plasma constant red screen
Sorry for the late response.... For making this a simple fix.... Do you think a replacement of the control board will do? How big are the chances that it´s the main board that´s faulty?
It can´t really refer to any test connectors/test pattern on my control board as dick_barton suggested in the link, please see the attached photo. Can you see it?
Thanks again!...

Re: Led lamp - won't work in cold enviroment
Could it be because of an inrush current limiter (NTC) that never gets warm enough to pass enough current through?

LG 50PZ570W plasma constant red screen
Good morning members,
The screen on my brother's LG plasma from 2011 has become constant red when turned on. I´ve only checked for loose internal band cable connections and done some "knocking" with the handle of a isolated screwdriver on the boards, without any change. Before I begin a more extensive fault tracing I would like to ask you experts
Any ideas?...

Re: Samsung UE40F651 just clicks when powered on
I´ve tested all the caps with a semi-professional Fluke tester with no remarks.
Also resoldered all the Connections mentioned by you budm, no difference, none looked particulary bad either.
The short half a second the PSU turns on I can hear a faint whine from somewhere on the PCB, like a high current and then enters a overload condition (??)
The diodes in the first attached photo measures full continuity (in circuit, tried to desolder one but changed my mind). This also applies to the...

Samsung UE40F651 just clicks when powered on
Hi,
I´m trying to fix a three year old Samsung LCD for a friend and this one seems a bit tricky for me. When powered on, the set starts up for a second, backlight (LED) lits up, OSD is displayed but just for a second and then turns off again. This repeats every two seconds until I cut the power off from the outlet. It´s the onboard relay of the PSU that "clicks".
There´s no difference in behaviour if I disconnect the main board and/or the LED backlight, except that the cycle is a bit slower (due to lower PSU load I presume). To me it sounds like an overload...
