It's what I had in my stock... Yes, I know I should have ordered the caps and recapped it then.

I've done PSU's with GD's before... I didn't think that they were that bad in PSUs...

    When I get a chance I'll order some HE's...

My SmartPower 2.0 500W PSU squeals and whines with the PC off and notice it easily when the house is quiet. Then I found a bulging Fuhjyuu next to the outer fan!

Next to the same fracking fan that usually fails to come on!

Thank God I have the Basiq VP-450 now!

Sad, but true, I had the SmartPower 2.0 500W powering my Acer Aspire M5630, because I got it in August, 2009 without a PSU.

          Looks good, ratdude.

The only concern I have is R47 next to the 5VSB output wire. Can't really tell the color code precisely, buy it looks like Brown, Purple, Black, Gold... i.e. 17 Ohms. Most likely that's the load resistor for the 5VSB. Check me on that. If that's what it is, you should replace it with a resistor of a higher resistance. 47 to 100 Ohms, 1W to 2W would be much better. 17 Ohms on the 5VSB will dissipate 1.47 Watts of heat - that's a lot. It will cook your new FC and that Su'scon that's next to it.

I don't know what to say. I've had probably 4 of those in my lifetime. they're all still good.

I thought about that... I think I might have a 1W 100 ohm resistor in my box (mouser accidentally doubled the part order on my Ultra 600W)

EVGA 430W PSU Correct voltages but computer won't turn on
                by objecttothis
I had a desktop form factor mini-server die on me a few weeks ago. Through my initial diagnostics, I was convinced it was the motherboard because when I shorted the Green wire on the ATX connecter, the multimeter gave me all the correct voltages on the various pins of the ATX connector and 5VSTB was also correct. To my surprise the replacement motherboard wouldn't turn on with the case power button either. I threw in another PSU and it turned on right away. This is an 80 Plus EVGA 430W PSU with PN:100-W1-0430. I pulled the cover off and don't see any immediately obvious blown caps or scorch...

                Thermaltake TR2 Bronze 600w low 12v voltage
                by AresROC
                https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NW6W2C8

I have a Thermaltake TR2 80+ Bronze that's been doing strange things. It would cause the computer to shot down randomly, and measures low voltage on the 12 volt rail. From 11.5 to 11volt.

I put it on the bench with a harddrive as load, and it outputs fine with low load:
                5v - 5.17v
                12v - 12.17v

It has all Japanese caps, but only 1 large cap for the Input supply. No obvious signs of overheating burns or bulge. Anyone know where I should start to troubleshoot? I guess I don't want to just start by replacing...

Thermaltake TR2 750W -fixed 5v stby now +5v reads low and no 12v
                by rodd
                Dear all,
I am trying to repair the ATX power supply.
First I fixed the +5V stby, which was zero due to a shorted TNY279 and an open 2R2 resistor.

Just in case I replaced the PWM control IC (PS223) and the PFC control IC (CM6800).

Now the supply turns on, the +3.3V is fine, but the +5V measures only 2.5V and there is no +12V.

I have checked every diode I could find with a DMM (in circuit) and all the capacitors (in circuit) no shorts, low ESR.
In despair I removed the low voltage diodes which were all mounted on the same heatsink...

Thermaltake ATX TR2-430 Turns on by itself, squeals, & has 0.9V on +5VSB
                by delturcious
I have an older Thermaltake PSU that has a squealing noise whenever it's plugged in, even when totally disconnected from everything else. It automatically powers on the 5V and 12V rails with full voltage, but the +5VSB circuit only has 0.9V on it. I would assume this is my first place to start troubleshooting?

There is nothing obviously burnt/leaking that I can identify.

I've tried to take some decent photos of the 5VSB area. Components of notes:
                • U8 at the back is marked AZ431
                • C38 is 102
                • C47 is 104
                • C34 is a Teapo 330uF 16V (I think all the cylindrical caps are

Need Help Thermaltake Litepower 500W Problem
                by sonicunderground
                Hello everyone,
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 500W Model: LT-500AL2NC
                PCB: G08-CGPA462-PA00 Rev:A
I have this PSU installed in my PC for several years.
The problem is one day my PC cannot detect an external HDD so i think maybe the PSU caps already bad.
So i decided to open the case and found some of the secondary caps already bulging.
Then i recapping all the caps except the primary one (because i tested it with an esr meter and its still good) and i already tested all the new caps too before i soldered them.
After that the psu is good and my pc can...
