Hipro is it? Mostly very good units, though the older ones have worse efficiency for todays standards.

It may be custom cap, which would be believable if he provided that information, photos of bung and top of the casing and also correct specifications. Which he does not - most of the specification is lacking and the stated endurance of 2000 hours is wrong - KZE in D10 has 4000.

I can supply you with genuine custom Samxon RS 3300/16 D10x30 mm (slightly higher ESR) or Chemi-Con KZN 3300/16 D10x40 mm (much lower ESR&higher ripple current, endurance 10000 hours @temperature and ripple). Check the list.

Or if you wait about a week or two, I should finally get KYB 2200/16 D10x30 mm (lower ESR&higher RC, 10000 hours).

That size doesn't exist in the KZE datasheet.

I'm searching a replacement for Teapo SC 16v 2200uf (10x30).
Its for my PSU, cannot fit 12.5

That is still in spec. And these caps often show lower capacity on my ESR Micro, even quite new japanese caps. I would be cautious if it showed 700 uF…

What's the date code on it? It could have legitimately lost uF, but yeah, it is still BH and we know the integrity of HV caps

i have seen those.
while the optical charecteristics would stink in most cases the die is the same between 3mm and 5mm.
its no surprise from folks who make fake eggs.

I've seen fake 5mm LEDs (re-cased 3mm LEDs) so it wouldn't surprise me. Those were small signal LEDs, maybe 5 pence (~6 euro cents) each in volume.

I really need to see a picture of these...

FR107s are cheap enough for the chinese not to bother. On the other hand, i've seen plenty of PSU designs where a 1N4007 has been used in place of a fast recovery diode. Of course, it eventually failed.

I've seen fake 5mm LEDs (re-cased 3mm LEDs) so it wouldn't surprise me. Those were small signal LEDs, maybe 5 pence (~6 euro cents) each in volume.

Some Chinese companies can fake rating on their cheap caps, could they also fake rating or specs on semiconductor products such as diode,... say they up a general purpose 1N4007 to FR107 or something ? It is serious, many fast recovery diodes are used in PSU.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if this happens with smaller devices.

There is too many fakes of everything. I would not worry about 1A diodes but more like high-power transistors and diodes. If you make the junction half or quarter the size it should be, it hardly does 20, 30 amperes etc.

I bought the cap new off a crap Chinese site because I was curious. Out $1.99, no big deal. Should I blow it up or dissect it?

I would dissect it, fill it up with water (piss would be funnier, but probably too gross for most people), then seal it again (with ductape, of course), and see how it performs.

I say there is a chance it might do better.
