Hello one question, have you de soldered the chip?
If so, please check that the chip soldering point is positioned correctly.
The fact that only amber lights up means that the chip may not be connected correctly, good luckComment

Thank you for your reply.
No did not soldering, i'm using the wson 8x6 probe.
Between original bios dumps i used a dump from another 5510 laptop with same chip (but other service tag), to try if it helps.
After first attempt with modded file from original chip i came in bios recovery mode. Then i used bios file from another laptop and after that it started with amber light. I put original bios dump in chip but also amber light when pressing power button.Comment

Thank you. Unfortunately i got same issue: amber light when pressing power button.
I did a second attempt, now with a memory erasure before programming. And that was the trick! Thank you very much hero!
Only a "little"problem now. After power up, system shows usb-drive and internal ssd, but did not start up from that. It detects no media and Support Assist is started every time doing tests.
Bios and boot list are showing boot devices, but hard pushing to start from that doesnt work....
I also updated Bios with newest from Dell site via .crv file (so system detect drives).Comment

by TopPopSorry for the long story. I have a Dell Latitude 5530 (i7) laptop (South Peak 15 MLK MB DDR4 203102-1 FK8VG$JA) with an admin BIOS password that I want to remove. Service Tag: HYKFPT3. Other than that the laptop worked OK.
I found a CH341A Black and went looking for the BIOS chip on the motherboard. After trying to read one chip that was a firmware chip but not the BIOS I think I found the BIOS chip labeled Winbond 25Q256JVEN. Altogether I think I found 4 different firmware chips in the laptop. The BIOS chip is a WSON8 6x8. I used the CH341A, NeoProgrammer, and a cheap pogo pin clip... -
by SathsulSo, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...-

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
(from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)
I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.
Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've... -

by King WajihHello,
I need the Dell D530 A10 Bios for a retro laptop I got for pretty cheap. Now I would like to tinker with the bios and explore the Penryn CPU debacle that was left unsolved over at the bios mods forum, (cuz those cpus are being scrapped for less than a dollar and all go for the same price. The A11 & A12 are signed Bioses so they cannot be modded.
I scoured the internet for A10, I looked in old websites, the corners of google pages, the internet archive, the wayback machine of dell ftp and broken links and for the life of me I could not find it as if someone had deliberately...-
