Automatic bios update went south (stuck progress bar for hours, battery full and charger connected) and couldn't recover with usb (gets stuck at Dell logo).

In a pinch, I followed this link to make a programmer using an arduino, desoldered the flash and flashed this file

Now it booted but I have a considerably slow POST, ~30-40 seconds before the Dell logo. I entered the service tag in the bios.
I don't know if the bios image supports all configurations of this machine or just the configuration of the uploader's machine.

Do I need to do another flash with a different file or ME/TXE clean?

I am looking here but still lost a bit

I have a Dell XPS 7590 here aswell with a corrupted Bios. Laptop powers on and after a few seconds powers itself down again. I managed to extract the bios and Uefitool seems to recognize the data.
Service Tag of this laptop is: FJ1YK63 (Laptop model P56F003).

Corrupted bios attached in the zip file. Would be amazing if someone could help me get a working bios image for this laptop again!

Thank you for your swift response! Just wrote the new bios image and the laptop is back up and running, time to run further diagnostics to see if there are no me/txe issues :-). Thank you very much for your help!

My Dell XPS 15 7590 has been bricked due to bios update.
min attempting to reflash the bios chip with a c341a programmer.

I realised I don't have the bin file for this bios.

When I read the chips on the motherboard. Both come up with all 0's in the software.
One chip on the motherboard is a 25Q80DV
                the other is a 25Q80EW

can anyone please guide me towards finding the correct size file to write over the chips and can anyone give me information as to why they are currently both all 0's.
the file I could save from those chips were just over 1MB.

Thread merged. The 25Q80 chips are not the bios, they are for firmware. If you havn`t erased those chips leave them alone ! ,if you have then post those backups here so we can check them .Next, look for the correct bios chip,it should have something like 25Q256 or a 256 as the part number. The supplied CH341A software is shit,to put it mildly. Use NeoProgrammer software, you`ll find it on the forum if you search. When you do find the right bios chip make a few backups and compare them to make sure they`re the same, then post one of those backups here, don`t flash any other bios or erase the chip, its imperative you make a good backup.
Also, you must post the laptop service tag -> https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...before-posting

                    Hello!
                    Thank you for the response.
This is the only chip I can find with something related to 256 written on it. But the other letters I can't find when looking on Neoprogrammer or Asprogrammer. (Neo also pops up saying ic not responding). Would this be the bios chip?

Yes thats it GD25B256DYIG .Do you have a WSON8 pogo adapter or only a SOP8 clip or are you desoldering the chip. If you only have a sop8 clip you won`t be able to attach it,it will damage the chip
