Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
Hi, my tag is J7TBQH2-E7A8, I have tried three different codes the one generated by https://bios-pw.org/ and two codes from a paid service. None is working. Keyboard is qwerty and used ctrl+enter and caps lock for upper cases.
Running out of options :-)
Is there any other options to explore?
Both of the master passwords for your laptop include OPEN BRACKET "[" key, which in a US QWERTY keyboard is located AT THE RIGHT OF "P" key, have you had that into account? Give it a try a few times.
Check picture attachment of US QWERTY keyboard and compare.

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
Double check your keyboard layout as AAAC said. If you have a programmer back up your bios and post it here, updating the bios doesn't remove the password but I hope it changes the suffix so a different unlock code can be obtained.

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
AFAIK 8FC8 is a new suffix, meaning that only new Dell models will use this 8FC8 suffix*; E7A8 suffix is an updated suffix, an update from 6FF1 suffix which was released not too long ago as we know. For E7A8 a downgrade of the BIOS may cause to use 6FF1 suffix.
*I’ve seen models using 8FC8 suffix to use E7A8 suffix instead, probably a firmware bug.
Patching the BIOS may reset the Service Tag, and also the passwords.Last edited by AAAC; 12-25-2022, 08:41 PM.Comment

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
Ok, your laptop has a QWERTY keyboard, but these master passwords are calculated for a US QWERTY keyboard layout.

Was the keyboard that caused the issue. Worked fine using the key to the right of the P for the right bracket.
Thanks for taking the the time to guide me!Comment

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
First Password: zmedD8p[4zd1Nh2z
Second Password: L451G0JqUc1zNsQm
Use an external (US) Keyboard (QWERTY), use shift key for Uppercase Letters, hold left CTRL key and press ENTER key twice.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
3.4. Dell
Dell laptops store the password in EC. However, some generators exist depending on the code suffix.
See: https://beta.bios-pw.org/ .Enter the generated code using a US QWERTY keyboard and press
enter, or press the left control key and press enter ,or press the left control key and press enter enter.
Note: The 6FF1 suffix has a bug,use your service tag with the BF97 suffix instead,Example: 1234ABC-BF97Comment

Thank you! Worked like a charm!! I've looked everywhere and no one said anything about this bug.Comment

Re: Dell Latitude 7480 Bios Password
Many -6FF1 machines are cracking with -BF97 codes. Simply exchange the suffix on data entry then generate your code.Comment

by jhanraHi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.
so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...-

by anlsmithI am trying to remove the BIOS password for a Dell Latitude 5430 motherboard LA-L591P. So far I think that I have located the BIOS chip but NeoProgrammer says that is detects 3 chips. I have attached the dump from each one. Are any of these the BIOS file? Service Tag: 1DMC1T3. If nyone knows the exact location of the bios chip as well I would greatly appreciate it...

by TripTopHi
i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
- takes long time to restart.
- sometimes powers on and then off
- sometimes while working it just dies,
From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?
i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)
As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.
I reinstall...-
