Dell Latitude 7300.
Tried to unlock bios using the 8fc8 patch, but didn't work. Reprogramming the original bios doesn't work either.
using CH341a with NeoProgrammer 2.2.0.10 which identified the bios chip as 25Q256 but quess 25B256 and 25Q256 is the same thing when it comes to programming.
Reading BIOS was done by read + successfull verify, so the content should be exactly whats on-chip.
The computer immediately turns on when attaching DC power. Then it just loops with black screen, turns itself off, and then on again after like 30 seconds, and does the same again.
Also tried crisis recovery with the original BIOS inside chip without luck.

My assessment of your notebook I think your original file is fine.
I guess your patch was made using the method search in HxD Editor for 010000 and then from offset 0045000 with a long of 4000 to fill everything with FF.
That's not something we like to see here. It doesn't have to work.
Here everyone will only exchange four bytes for you and the notebook will start after several starts in manufacturing mode (patience is the magic word) and the CMOS will also be disconnected.
Just try this new patch.
Please also be patient, the start up to the Dell logo can take some time.Comment

Now to the results.
flashed in the file and verified the flash went good. worked perfectly, went into FACTORY MODE.
but now to the odd thing:
While in factory mode, and entering the service tag, the computer dies randomly before I got to save the service tag, it just rebooted in the middle of entering it.
Tried again, went into factory mode, started entering service tag but it then died randomly again. (both times on DC power).
Now it just turns on, fans on full speed, caps lock LED on.
no beeps.
Display test (D key) works.
Tried reflashing the file again (I could see that the file does not match anymore, so the computer writes something to the BIOS).
Same result.
Verifying the BIOS chip shows that the content is again changed, so apparently it can boot the bootloader for the BIOS chip.
I guess there is some hardware fault on the computer, so any ideas what it could be?
Here is how the computer behaves:
On DC only: Computer reboots every like 30 seconds, fans full speed, caps lock LED on, screen black.
On battery only: Computer is stable, but screen is black all the time. Have had it on for like 15 minutes.
On DC + Battery - same as Battery only.
Tried both with BIOS battery attached and detached.
Any ideas what could be the problem?Comment
