I'm reaching out because I've run into a bit of a challenge with my Surface Pro 7 (SP7). A friend gave it to me since it's essentially dead weight for them, and they mentioned I could have it. The device is currently locked with a BIOS password, and I'm not very familiar with how to go about unlocking it.
I've already found a BIOS bin file on BadCaps, and it seems like it's been dumped and the password cleared, but I'm struggling with the process of flashing the BIOS to the device. The Surface Pro 7 is different from other devices I've worked on, and I could really use some guidance on how to properly flash this BIOS with the new bin file.
If anyone has experience with flashing BIOS on Surface devices or has some detailed steps to follow, I'd really appreciate the help! I'm thankful for any advice or assistance you can lend me, as I really want to get this working.

Thread merged. You should make a backup of your own bios and remove the password from that, don`t use any other bios. To make a backup you will need an SPI programmer, read through the posts as i think you will need a 1.8V adapter as well, unless your programmer has selectable voltage options.

Hello everyone, after a long time lying down, my friend's surfaсe pro 7 stopped starting. The logo appears and disappears after a couple of seconds, voltage measurements are all normal. There is a red indicator on the board, it is constantly on! I soldered out the BIOS chip, it was read with errors, but I read it without an adapter for 1.8v. Thus, I killed the chip. Can someone make a BIOS file based on the serial number. Serial number 033607203533 is model 1866 for 256gb

I got a Pro 7 with cracked and smashed screen that I am trying to repair, and I have fouind that it has uefi password. I followed all the instructions I have found here and on youtube, but I had no luck.

More than requesting a clean BIOS, I am wondering if somebody can point me out how to do it by myself? What I did is use a clean BIOS i have found here in this forum and extract the Region bin file, used on my backup bios and compiled it, however now I am not even able to enter UEFI. What I did wrong?

Sometimes does not even boot, just 3 seconds and goes off, others, password is still there.. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Believe me that I am trying to do it on my own with all the resources that I have found in the forum and online, but no luck..

I just invalidated pass and IPC entries, try just with pass entry invalidated. From my experience this will allow you to have partial control of bios settings, without IPC invalidated but give it a try.

But now sometimes it doesn't start Windows, it just freezes. I've already reinstalled Windows and tried updating all the firmware (drivers). I found it's better to work with the original BIOS file.
