Hy everyone, my first thread. Has anyone succeeded in removing SVP stored in the MEC1663 chip in the T490 and T490s? I have a MEC Progammer but I don't know where to connect the wires. Also I undertand that if you erase the eeprom portion of the chip the serial number, mac address and other information are lost. One other forums someone said that if you solder a new chip the bios writes in it what it has too and the laptop works. I don't really want to begin soldering new BGA chips and destroying the laptop.

Re: Supervisor password on Lenovo T490 and T490s
You need RT809 or vertyanov, change jtag_rst resistor from pulldown to pullup. Attach programmer to MEC jtag. Read, erase, rewrite (or just delete password section if you use vertyanov).Comment

then move jtag_rst resistor from pull-down to pull-up, attach rt809h to mec jtag, read, write and it's unlocked.Comment

Yes, no modify needed. There's another topic about mec, search for it and read.Comment

Hey guys,
have a laptop here that has a supervisor Password (dump in Attachements).
Before i write the Serial NR.etc i wanted to say that strangely after flashing with 3 different Bios dumps and one from lenovos site
the laptop works but everytime it wants me to type a supervisor password i never set.
I thought the supervisor password is stuck in the ec bios but no it isn't either because after replacing the ec chip from one of another board it still has the supervisor password.
Anyway i wanted to ask what of the two chips is the ec bios because on the left...-

by baaligogaGood day, everyone!
I'm encountering an issue with my Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen laptop related to the BIOS supervisor password. I'm seeking assistance and guidance from the knowledgeable members of this community in resolving this problem.
I am no expert and cannot perform soldering or unsoldering of the chip from the board. Therefore, I attempted to use an EZP 2023 programmer with a clip to extract the BIOS bin file without removing the BIOS chip from the motherboard. The BIOS chip has the following letters imprinted on it: "Winbond 25Q80DVNIG 2026". I used the...-

by PusherHi, I bought a Lenovo P16 Gen1 from a private seller. The box was still originally sealed but when I want to enter the BIOS a supervisor password is required. Is it possible that the notebook was delivered by Lenovo with a password? What can I do to reset the password? Unfortunately, I no longer have contact with the seller.

by PascosHi all,
I bought a few Lenovo laptops from a batch, most of them having a 10th/11th gen Intel CPU, and I found out they all have a supervisor password enabled. I understand you would need soldering or a programmer to disable the supervisor password on these newer units, which I would like to prevent if at all possible. I have the suspicion that all the laptops are using the same password, though.
In the batch there is also an earlier T550. Is there a method available to retrieve the supervisor password from this model so it can be tested with the others?-
