Re: Hp Probook 6545B bios dump wanted
Hi - I have a Probook 6545b BIOS problem too. I tried to update it to the latest BIOS on HP's site.
The update failed - the current bios is half working - boots operating system and grub but no keyboard input. The keyboard works fine in the bios set up screens and boot device selection - once boot device is selected and bootstrapped kbd no longer works.
The problem is that the keyboard won't work once GRUB (Linux/Win10 dual boot) is started.
I can access the BIOS setup screens - keyboard works fine...
GRUB starts linux by default. the kernel reports: "Unable to enable ACPI" and " i8042 Can't reactivate KBD port"
I have tried the "Windows Key + B" update from USB suggested by HP (Won't work)
I have tried HPs "bootable" USB solution (would not boot)
I used Rufus to make a bootable USB stick - copied HP " bootable" erompaq. exe, config.sys, and rom bin file.
erompaq loaded but needs an F10 keypress to continue (KBD not working once freedos loads from USB stick)
Tried filling KBD buffer with F10 keystrokes from BIOS setup boot selection screen before and during selection of usb stick as boot device.
this started the rom update but then complained the machine needed to be on mains power (it was) - my guess is it is checking via ACPI if plugged in - corrupt bios has broken ACPI)
Does anyone know of a bios rom flash software that can just update bios without checking acpi or needing user interaction (kbd not working under corrupt bios) that I can put on a usb that self boots and updates bios?Comment

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -
by traxformaniaHello,
I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).
But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.
I'm trying to reset my bios without success.
I tried :
-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries... -
by razor_amdWith ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.
For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.
I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.
This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...-

by DynaxSCHi,
I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.
It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.
I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...-

by AHmad_SalalHello all,
I have a Lenovo Thinkstation P500 that is stuck at post with no display, it happened after I changed the memory timings in bios. I can not clear CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard, also tried re-flashing bios suing a USB stick but it also doesn't work. The only solution that I can think of right now is re-flashing the bios chip using an external programmer but the problem is that I don't have the bios dump of p500 for flashing externally and I don't know the location of bios chip. If someone can provide the bios dump and bios chip location it would be really helpful....-
