There is a adapter that goes inside and on the other side a clip that hooks on the ic 8 leg clip.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

I've been de-soldering and re soldering the chips every time and sometimes things have gone awry (with so called collateral damage)! I wish I knew about these adapters beforehand. Thanks for this info. I've just bought one and I'm now waiting for its arrival.

          Check every wire.
You may have to attach another wire for it to work.

          The wire its to cheap.

Mine came in a week ago and i was already able to fix another sony laptop with it, I got it without a display when it was on. i wasnt so sucessful with 2 other laptops i tried to reprogram the bios chip. perhaps they have different issues. Very easy to do, the hardest part is finding these dumps.

Notice to users of XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76 programmers regarding BIOS backup file size
              by m1ch43lzm
              Hi everyone
I noticed on the Xgpro software the BIOS backup files have extra bytes at the end when reading some chips, this is because the Xgpro software also reads the OTP region of those flash chips, and by default will append that region to the saved file
              Programmer models: XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76

Example: GD25LQ128D (1.8V), IC size is listed as 0x1000000 Bytes (16777216 bytes) + 0xC00 bytes, those extra 0xC00 bytes will be appended to the end of the saved file by default, resulting in a file size of 16780288 bytes
There's also an extra OTP Secu.R...

A1466 MacBook Air 13" 2017 Backlight issue works but then turns off
              by Stephen
Hello, got a weird MacBook Air here
board looks fresh and no water damage, backlight works and turns on and stays on when installing OS etc. However, when the os is installed and when the system files are loaded before the login page the backlight goes out. I have wiped it, NVRAM reset, etc and even took some other instances and this blows my mind, never seen this before. Backlight just turns off once the OS is loaded. Anyone come across this and if so what would be the cause? I am certain its a board issue since I tested the LCD on another board and it stays on. Again the backlight works...

Insignia NS-LCD019-09 issue: Power light turns blue for 3 seconds, the flashes red before going solid read again
              by cajoeg
Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

Sony SLV-E780 Power Supply Issue – Clicking Sound, Need Help Identifying Faulty Component
              by Akuanka
              Hi everyone,

I'm troubleshooting a power supply issue with a Sony SLV-E780 VCR. The device clicks repeatedly but doesn't power up completely. I've already replaced five capacitors, but the problem persists.

Here's a video link https://photos.app.goo.gl/3Xki6yvCLn67gLX78 showcasing the sound. Based on your experience, could this be due to a transformer, diode, or another component? Any guidance on what to test or replace next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!
