Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen Type 20R1 BIOS DUMP

    Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen Type 20R1
    SN: PF1Y5BBJ
    Board: GX490 NM-C661 Rev: 1.0

I have made two dumps of this bios, with the bios chip removed from the board and the hashes match on both dumps, but I cannot find the DMI information in the dumps except for the Windows product key, so I think it is corrupted. I have downloaded two bios updates from the Lenovo support site, but they contain small .PAT file, and 4 subfolders containing .FL1 and .FL2 files, which I don't understand enough to figure out how to use to fix my dump.

The problem with the laptop is that it will not power on. USB-C meter shows 20v is negotiated, but does not show charging current if battery is connected, and nothing happens when power button is pressed. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Here is my dump.

Only the win key is in the bios, the DMI is in the EC. Seems to me like you`ve got a hardware problem rather than the bios

Hi all, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 type 20R1, motherboard model NM-C661 (which is why I believe this is the right thread despite being a Carbon).
The laptop lost power in the middle of a BIOS update and was (presumably) corrupted. Now it does not turn on at all (no display, no fan), with three flashes of the power LED along with an amber charging LED when plugged in.

Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7
        Type: 20R1-S05A00
        Serial: PF-21E8NG
        Motherboard: NM-C661

I've attached the dump I was able to take. I was unable to figure out how to extract a flashable file from Lenovo's download, so any help is appreciated.

Try, BIOS region + EC + clean ME
        X1 Carbon 7th Gen - (Type 20R1, 20R2) Laptop (ThinkPad) - Type 20R1

        BIOS ver. N2QET56W
        ME 14.1.67.2046
        Win key 12C0000-12CFFFF

If BIOS doesn't work please say so, maybe someone else knows how to merge ThinkPad BIOS properly, for type 20R1 the BIOS version should be N2QET**W or N2QET**P

Thanks, unfortunately this did not change the behavior. Really starting to suspect the EC now...

Try this one. Original BIOS region (which I believe is fine from your original dump), clean ME from same motherboard (CSME is 0x7D4000 in this donor compared to your old one) . Problem is there are no working dumps for this 20R1 that I could find for FIT configuration. Your dump has an error when loaded into FIT so cannot get the config loaded properly.

No dice, unfortunately. Same three blinks on the power button.

Need BIOS Dump/ROM for Lenovo Thinkstation p500
                  by AHmad_Salal
                  Hello all,
I have a Lenovo Thinkstation P500 that is stuck at post with no display, it happened after I changed the memory timings in bios. I can not clear CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard, also tried re-flashing bios suing a USB stick but it also doesn't work. The only solution that I can think of right now is re-flashing the bios chip using an external programmer but the problem is that I don't have the bios dump of p500 for flashing externally and I don't know the location of bios chip. If someone can provide the bios dump and bios chip location it would be really helpful....

Request HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 (J06) BIOS dump to restore system firmware
                  by Ahari
                  Hi all,

This is my first post here (I am very new to forums!) and I hope someone can help. I am looking for a full dump of the BIOS of a HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 so that I can get this mini server running again. (BIOS version J06 2019-04-04, chip 25Q064A). I think my board was partially bricked after a failed BIOS update.

I got it second hand in this state and all the normal attempts at bios restoration have not worked. I have even desoldered the chip and tried to load the actual BIOS from HP, but it is missing some parts needed to boot the system.

                  I...

[REQUEST] 2MB BIOS Dump for Lenovo NM-E471 Rev 2.0 (Winbond 25Q16JWSIQ Chip)
                  by hyperwood
                  Hi everyone,

                  I’m looking for a 2 MB BIOS dump for a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 16ARH7H / Legion 5 with mainboard NM-E471 Rev. 2.0.

The BIOS chip is a Winbond W25Q16FW (1.8V, 2MB) and it's completely unresponsive / bricked. I tried recovery via USB but no success. Now I want to reflash it externally using a CH341A programmer.

I already found 32MB dumps (e.g. from Vinafix and Badcaps), but they are too large for the chip – and the last 2MB in those files are just FF FF FF....

                  ✅ What I need:
                  • A working 2MB BIOS dump
                  • Matching NM-E471 Rev. 2.0, e.g. JY575
                  ...

ASUS ZenBook UX480F : need help with cleaning the ME region of my BIOS dump
                  by mkdj
                  Dear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:

I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.

I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...

I need a BIOS dump for the Samsung S49CG934SU monitor
                  by Habble7
The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.

                  Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

                  Troubleshooting Attempts:
