have you checked on the board for 3.3v and 5v? if its there then the bios may be corrupted, you have to flash it with an external programmer. If its not there trace the power socket and the power ic. I think there is also a resistor on the board from the middle pin, you have to check from the schematic sometimes its resistance get high so the signal doesn't reach the kbc.
I have a CQ58 by compaq here at the moment that has no power.... You plug the charger in.. The led at the charge port blinks 3 times then goes off....
It was brought to me by a friend to look at.. I had no power adapter that fit.. So I uses a butchered universal power adapter that I have and soldered on the leads to the correct terminals...
I now have 19V input power... I have no schematic so if anyone knows where I can get this I would be grateful...
I have traced the voltage on the charge circuit, that seems to get to the battery fine... Or almost.. As I still have a few points to check as of yet...
The problem seems to be on the underside of the board... I get 19v in from power jack, it hits first capacitor and then after that I have no voltage at the MOSFET....
