question about boards used in TV Model Ranges
Not sure if anyone will know this...
Are boards re used in larger TV's
So say a 22" board may be used in a 22",26" and 32" then say a board from a 37" in a 40" and 42" etc....
and if so do the powerboards need any mods like putting in caps or diodes in the holes that are not filled....

Re: LG 50ps3000 power fault
can you get some pictures of the boards.... then some pictures of the connectors... freferably showing the pin values... maybe there is a legend for them near to the connectors.... If you have no standby/power light at all then i would assume that something on the powerboard has failed..... so that is the first place i would look and check where all the voltages are.... Once we have pictures we can ask you to take readings from for specific pins and work out from there.... i am happy to call you and talk you through the things i would do but i cant without...

Re: LG 50ps3000 power fault
can i ask a few questions.....
when everything is plugged in do you get the red standby light?
when you press power on/standby button does nothing happen(red light doesnt change state)?
sounds similar to an issue i had with my old philips BDS42V, it turned out to be a Voltage regulator on the standby line..... When i unplugged the connector that fed back the to the stanby line, my Plasma would power up, but obviously no signals from mainboard......
Not sure what the voltages were exactly but i remember that...

Re: Recommendations please
I had to do something similar back in 2008 when i was an IT systems engineer for a company, we were waiting for fiber to be installed under a road, but some dufus had already setup the factory with its machines.... I installed two of these, one at either end and it worked great, that great infact that they decided to use it as a backup in case anyone accidentally chopped the fiber when digging up the road....
Similar product to this would work, but you would need to check out the range properly and find one that will intersect with your WIFI...

Re: 50PK350 Repair Log
I was absolutely gutted when i dropped the TV as it landed on the corner, i knew it was toast as soon as it hit the floor....
been searching for a faulty Plasma thats a similar model since cos as far as i am aware the boards in mine are fine.... once i find one with a panel thats fits then i am sorted and ahve my 3d Smart Tv Back up again....

Re: 50PK350 Repair Log
About to pick up a 50" LG Plasma on friday evening.... Not sure of the model number yet as they didnt know it or where to get it from.... Other than the Panel thickness difference, what are the pitfalls of swapping out the panels in these 50" models?
Symptoms of this one are that the set takes an age to come on... but i am told it can be anything up to an hour....
I am hoping and praying that the panel is the same as my 50PM670T that i stupidly dropped when i was decorating and put a crack in the corner of the panel.......

Re: Polariod FLM-2601 No picture sometimes
The set would intermittently lose picture when it had warmed up.... and then power down.... If i left it for about 1-2 mins it would power up again fine until warm, then start the same process....
I tested the V Reg with the Upside down can of Air Duster as a Freeze spray when it was warm and started to be intermittent before it powered down... This made it work ok while i was spraying it but then a few mins later it would go again...
Replaced the Voltage regulator and it worked fine....
next time...

Re: Polariod FLM-2601 No picture sometimes
Can you both get some Pictures of the Main boards and power supplies so that we can have a look and see if A: we can spot anything and B: ask you to point out a few things...
I have fixed a few Poloroids where the Voltage Regulator for the LVDS had gone bad... but wont know until i see the board design

Re: Poloroid PLV68155S67 - PLV68155E15-01-01 15.6"
Cheers Reece, As i was writing it i did think that someone would ask for a pic.... I dont fancy taking the thing apart again but can get one off The net and Circle the Regs if you like?
This is not the board that i repaired But one that is the same on ebay.... Although i wouldnt buy it with all that corrosion....
I have marked U904 and circled the other 2 that i tested...Last edited by steved271; 04-16-2016, 07:11 AM.

Poloroid PLV68155S67 - PLV68155E15-01-01 15.6"
Afternoon Guys,
This isn't the usual Me asking for help, Just want to Pay back some of the advice i have been given over the years and post a fix for the Above TV...
Background to this was that a friend of a friend brought me this 15.6" TV that he used for his CCTV system in his shop....
Someone had already had a go at fixing it but told him it wasnt fixable....
To me that is a challenge....
Symptoms were that the TV would power on to a steady red light... No blinks, no flashes just dead...
My first...

Re: SAMSUNG BN44-00191a Power Board Red Light 5 Blinks
No Worries budm, It frustrates me when there is no follow up because it could help so many people out.... I did one on AV Forums a few years ago with my philips 42" Plasma Monitor... Think it was a BDSV42 Something or other... asked for help and with minimal knowledge and very few people having this set, it took me over a year to keep going back to it...
Found it to be a Voltage regulator on the Standby Circuit that had gone bad.... Input was 5v and output was 1.2v when i looked at the datasheet it should...
