    Asus GL504GS BIOS BIN

Hi, I have an Asus GL504GS where, using a modded BIOS, settings were saved that rendered it unbootable (no display output on internal or external etc) - pulling the CMOS battery and all other power (battery, AC), leaving for a day, did not reset them. The BIOS recovery procedure does not work. The chip is WSON8, I can remove and reflash it, but I believe I need a full dump.

Knowing which areas to clear out to cause a variable reset/reinitialization to defaults would also help, then I wouldn't need to reflash & could just erase that portion on the chip.

Any help on either end would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: I have uploaded the stock BIOS 303, as well as a pre-mod dump of the stock 303 BIOS done with (I believe) Intel's FPT.

Dump the bios with the programmer and upload the file here, add clear picture of the sticker at the ram slot and the device serial number.

Engineering dump should solve the problem if it's bios related:

            Re: Asus GL504GS BIOS BIN

Can I straight flash the engineering dump without losing device-specific info? Would there be a possible issue with EC firmware mismatch? Asking as WSON8 is a pain to work with and I don't want to physically break anything! This is my own laptop, I have a cheap hot air station & a CH341 programmer I did a 3.3V mod on. The chip itself is precariously held in the SOIC8 clip the programmer came with, which astoundingly worked, but I don't know if I can get a good connection a second time.

I also looked at the bin provided by Cosmouaz, seems the first ~4.5MB of the bin are identical to the engineering dump. The middle portion doesn't match anything I compared it to.

I wonder if there is an area of the chip that's designated as NVRAM & whether that alone can be nulled out? Essentially forcing the BIOS to use default values for everything.

              Re: Asus GL504GS BIOS BIN

I got curious and flashed the engineering dump. Haven't done an analysis of the effects so far, but the laptop now boots without issues. I've been lurking on this forum for years (since the cap plague back in the mid 2000s - stacks and stacks of blown P4P800-VM & P5LD2-VM boards), it's time for a donation, which I have now made. Thank you very much for the assistance! Please feel free to delete the photo, serial number, and two dumps I uploaded as I don't think they'll be of much use to others - I would do it myself but I don't think I can edit my old posts!

Check the barcode sticker on the ram slot, the same as post #3 If your model number says GL504GS you can use the Asus F1 engineering bios at post #5 .

If you want to add your DMI from your backup to the new bios use a hex editor with these offsets 460000 - 46FFFF ,or use the attched script, see the README.txt file for the instructions.

Hello! I'm new to this forum, so i saw post about this model, that someone after modification of BIOS have no diplsay output. I have the same situation as turbo9000. I have no display output from int and ext. Actually this is my fault, because i turned off TPM module accidentally and after that i got result of no display Tried every firmware that was posted in this topic, file extensions was like "303" and "311", found out that i can't firmware because of extension, renamed to .bin every file(except 303 file, because if size 16386) , but no results. My laptop have only LED of powering up and nothing else. This laptop(GL504GS with GTX1070 8GB) have actually 2 SPI's onboard which is: W25Q80EW and MX25L12873F. One is 8MB which i guess straight connected to HM307, and another which is "main" for 16MB. Also tried a lot of other's bins for this motherboard and same result. And can'y see any firmware for 8MB chip.

Also my corrupted dump 16MB have something like result for motherboard. Keyboard and fan is working. When i press Power Button - keyboard start to light up, and only 1 fan is working for appx. 30 secs then turns off.
Posting my pictures with model and S/N, also will attach all bins that i have.
I hope that someone could help me with this situation, then i can donate him for working variant.
I'll post every dump i tested and i have only 1 for 8MB chip.

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                    Some issues
                    A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                    Things I tried
