I have a 2000 MacBook Air that is iCloud locked. Bought it on E-bay for me to study. I also have a full working MacBook Air (2000) that I connected to try to use DFE. But all I get is a Big Paddlock on the Host machine. I tried to connect to CheckM8 software, but that does not work either. I'm just a hobbyist that does not like Macs junked when they can be fixed. THX.

Ah this sounds very good indeed
I wonder was there an additional ROM located somewhere that has this info separate from the actual rom IC itself as a cover. As work on so many of these boards and are a pain in my back side LOL

That post was 5 months ago; no progress made on unlocking Activation-Locked M1 boards/units as of right now. If anyone says otherwise, request hard proof and confirm it's not just a bypass.Comment

Yes seems I was a bit late for the party
however more interested in perm solution to MDM removal as opposed to the FMM unlocking. Keep up the good work guys

mdm never permanent remove ( only when old owner delete serial from mdm server) or you must change the serial on macComment

Yes we already know how to sort previous models it is just M1 versions, I wonder if anyone has investigated the similar IC next to the CPU on the schematics says it's another ROM ?????Attached FilesComment

Morning all
I have a question so if one changes the serial of said T2 device to that of another T2 same year same spec colour etc etc no FMM and maybe an MDM lock is there not something in the T2 that verifies all is well or is there something else that needs changing.
Ok reason I ask running sys config will be greyed out if the above happens of course I am sure you guys know what I am talking about. Just wondered if it stores the previous serials of all components in T2.
Then if there is changes to this the system will not allow connection to Apple network for configuring i.e Touch ID, TOP-CASE DISPLAY as all these have serial numbers written to something during the process.
Please excuse my loose terms in case of prying eyes

i change efi files find on files mina T2 activator 1,4 and use for activation mina T2 activator 1,3 , but fault ssh?
i use mina T2 ramdisk activator 1,0 and 3,0 . but whon t work ?

I was hoping someone could point me to a tutorial on MDM unlock. Basically, I picked up a Macbook (A1989) from someone which did not have OS installed. The guy said it started software update and but did not finish. Long story short, the touchbar on this device has some kind of a short, so after unplugging it, I was able to install the OS on it, when I found out that it is also MDM locked by his company. I tried changing the serial number on the ROM by only changing a couple of digits of the original serial number. Now after installing the ROM back, the Macbook appears dead = DFU mode. When I... -
1. RESET MACOS WITH IPSW
a. Power off MacBook, press and hold the power button to enter Recovery
b. Open Disk Utility, remove Macintosh HD
c. Reboot, connect to the network to Activate Mac.
d. Plug the C cord in the first port of the MacBook into the other Mac, then power off the MacBook
d. Hold down the Control (L) + Option (L) + Shift (R) + Power key combination for 10 seconds
e. Release the other keys, but keep holding the Power key for another 10 seconds
f. MacBook is returned to DFU, open Apple Configurator 2 on the other Mac, right-click... -
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
- PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
- This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
- PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)

I have a liquid damaged 820-02016 that has a 1-2mm wide hole in the PCB caused by a burned capacitor. The PPBUS_VON is shorted. I think the board is 100% gone, I tried grinding off the burned PCB material with no avail, the board is burned almost through to the other side.
But, I can get a fully working iCloud locked mainboard for very cheap.
As far as I have seen, there are only two ROM chips on the board, the TBT ROM and main flash.
Is it possible to transfer these two ROMs from the bad board to the good locked one and "unlock" the good...
