Try another SSD or disconnected internal SSD and boot on external drive with macOS.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardView -

The macbook turns on perfectly, which makes me think that all internal voltage values work correctly. Otherwise I wouldn't turn on. PPG3H, PP3v32, etc... It runs the operating system without any problem, the apple appears, the password screen appears and 7 seconds later it shuts down.
Piernov, So you do the macbook, you consider it a software problem or hardware?Comment

Disolder:
Macbook is completely shut down. Not only backlight. It lose all the image completely. The macbook dies after arriving at the user screen. 7 seconds on the user screen, and then die.

Re: Macbook air 820 - 00165 turn on, when arrive at the User password turn off
Have you tried the built in diagnostics?
ASD pass with no errors?
most likely sensor issue.
That shut down sound to me like temperature related most likely.
Is the CPU too hot when you touch it?
What is the history of the logic board? liquid damaged?
what have you done to it?Comment

If you can restart it immediately and it does the thing again and again and again it could not be a heat or power related issue.
If you remove the disk so it stops at the boot screen does it stay on?Comment

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by mferna14Hi friends., I am working on MacBook Pro A2159 touchbar 2019. The old logic board was liquid spilled so I ordered another logic board from AE. Received it & all worked fine till I got to the Chinese login screen where the login screen password tobe entered. I tried to reset the password but it again gave me options which I do not know about the Apple ID. I formatted the onboard SSD. & wanted to change the startup boot sequence but in order to change it, again the password is needed for that too. Is there a way to get rid of this password?? The seller has not replied back past 2 days, how...05-13-2025, 04:16 PM

by ritaloHello,
I have a MacBook Air 13 inches 2014.
I have set a EFI password and I can't remember it : now I want to reinstall macOS and I can't because the MacBook is asking for the password.
I know how to remove the password with a usb programmer.
I plug the usb programmer to the motherboard and to my pc with usb, I read the EFI and I save it to a file.
Then I have to find this value in the file : $SVS because it indicate where is the password.
But I can't find the value.
I have attached the file
Thank...-

by mkdjHello everyone,
About me, my goal and the equipment I (don't) have:
I am brand new to this forum, and I am eager to learn about repairing laptops. I have an engineer background although I haven't done electronics for a while. I have watched several Youtube videos in the last two months, trying to understand how to diagnose a faulty motherboard. I have a USB-C Amp meter and a classic multi meter. No DC Power Supply to inject voltage, no soldering iron to replace components.
About my issue and my goal:
A friend of mine has a MacBook Air M1 A2337 that does not... - Loading...
