    Re: I am confused

Have you removed the CMOS cell when flashing the BIOS ?. If you keep the CMOS Cell, Password may not be removed.

                    Svod 4 reading emmc
                    by magicpc
Hello, is svod 4 able to read emmc? Do I need a special board or is it enough to solder into the pinout and insert the other side of the cables into the programmer? somehow especially set the svod?

I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right spot, I don't have any question or anything specific to one board. I am *kinda* starting out with this kind of work. I have been IT in one role or another for my job the last 30 years, and I am familiar enough with basic board stuff generally speaking. So, I dunno for example if someone told me to find a uart header, or flash some generic tsop8 something, etc I understand that kind of stuff. Point being, I'm not 100% clueless. I just don't have the specific knowledge when it comes to some of these more advanced repairs. I actually have spent the last...

so TI versions have suffix D IP etc. There didn’t seem to be an explanation of these anywhere. I think they indicate the physical pin characteristics but what do they represent- anyone have a list....

Does anyone know if the IT8528E (AXA) needs to be programmed? I changed the EC on an Asus X750 notebook for a new one but it has certain problems. Thanks

Confused why a capacitor would read OL
                    by Maximasraine
I'm working on--really just learning how to repair--an Acer Chromebook that no longer works. As far as what is wrong with it, when you plug in the charger, the light on said charger goes out. The first thing I did, then, was check the power rails for a short, which seems to be the main culprit in many instances, but not in this one. No shorts, but I did find something that confuses me. From the attachment, you can see that I circled a capacitor. The reason I circled it was that it reads "OL" (In resistance mode). I changed it, but the issue persists. This is the opposite of a short,...
