There should be a backlight enable FET that you should be able to check.

      Re: MacBook A1278 2009

1 is not a fuse if i remember good....

      2 is backlight fuse.

if fuse 2 is blown... check if one side has 12.5 volt. if yes...... remove all sort of power and check if side 2 has short. if no short replace 2A fast blow 24-32volt 0402 fuse and backlight should be back ok.

backlight ic is the one near lvds connector and up that component u called " fuse 1"

          According to schematic, 1 is a Cap. 200Pf 5% 100V CERM 1206.
(it is on the backlight circuit).

Good for you. I have not a looked at the schematic. Perhaps Cap 1 is for transient spikes or it allow the circuit to discharges?

                by Rezendes
Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

Subject: Help Needed: MacBook A1278 (3115) No PPBUS_G3H Issue

                Hello everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook A1278 with the 3115 logic board and facing an issue with no PPBUS_G3H voltage. Here's what I've checked so far:
                1. U7000 Measurements:
                  • Pin 3 has 0V, even though R7012 shows 16.5V from PPDCIN_S5_CHGR.
                2. Resistors:
                  • I measured R7010 and R7011 with one leg disconnected, and both tested OK.

Based on these findings, I believe U7000 needs to be replaced. However, I have a related question:
                • If I also decide to replace the SMC, do I need to order it pre-programmed,
                ...

Just archiving everything related to bumpgate since most stuff has disappeared from Google. Maybe people will finally take the time to read some of it and stop shouting "reflow gpu" at every occasion but rather try to understand what the real issue is…
Interesting parts about the failure analysis are "Why Nvidia's chips are defective" and "Why Nvidia's duff chips are due to shoddy engineering"

May complete this post at a later date with more details.
Basically issue is a combination of thermal dissipation of the chip with hotspot,...
