    dellxps15 last post seems like that would be a good idea to follow as he seems to know more about the Apple Hardware/Software than I do. I do not know if you have the service manual so I supplied it just in case. I would follow dellxps15 advice first as he seems to know the logical steps that power up and boot up this system. I have a good understanding electronics involved and how they work, but I do not repair these things on a day to day basis. File was too big so here is the

      macbook don't have RTC battery, they use the main battery that is always connected

          Hi, can u please tell me more precise where it's those two pads ?

          I think this is somewhere around here, cercle in white are SMC_ONOFF_L circuit.

            Ok sry i wasn't understand what you mean.

            I have shorted SMC_ONOFF_L (probe 1330 Pin1) to the ground (C5710, pin2, GND, probe1) , did the probe shorted have any importance ?

            The Motherboard have start, fan spinning at maximum. So i rebuild it on the Mac, and test it but no change happen

              When you talk about pressing N and look for smc_onoff_L are you telling him to push down on the N key and hold it down at the same time the unit is turned on while a meter is connected with the "positive probe/red" on smc_onoff_L and the "negative probe/black" is connected to ground and look for a voltage change?

                When I was a technician our hardware test engineers used software to start testing out each circuit. When the unit started out one would hear a beep. Each beep one heard meant that particular hardware section was tested out. The first beep mean that the processor was up and running and the ROM was was working the second beep said the Ram was up and working and so forth and so on. I guess this is too easy to do?

                  press N on boardview means open boardview.exe and load .brd. then press N key to imput data for search and press OK for searching.

                  if macbook start that way:

                  1st put back heatsink with thermal paste.

                  second look on boardview (keyboard connector) without keyboard plugged in and look for smc_onoff_l pin (should be number 5) and short it with ground. macbook start too ?

                  when doind that bypass, check again coils volt voltage.

                      That would be dependent also on backlight enable. PPBUS_SO_LCDBKLT__EN_L if this is also setting at 12.6 volts it means it is not turning on so Q9806 will not turn on. What is Probe 1158 and 1157?

                        edit: f9800 should be ok.

                        check r9809 if 147k and voltage both side.

                        report q9807 voltage pin 2-3-4-5

                              R9731 & R9701 have 0.00 volt on each side. (running or not)

                              Q9807 have 8.71V on Pin3 and 0.00V on other pin. (0.02V on pin6 when logicboard running)

                              R9809 have 9.69V on Pin1 & 8.70V on Pin2. (running or not running)

                              Can you tell me how can i take measure for 147k and what is it please ?

                              I think a prrobe is a way, a circuit. probes have the same name so, for example SMC_ONOFF_L is always on probe 1330.

                                At first look it would seem the circuit is working as there is voltage drops through the circuit. I will have to look up the specifications to make sure 2.91 volts will turn on Q9806. Q9806 may be bad but something on it's output could had damage it. With the unit off you might want to put your negative/black probe on the output of Q9806 and the positive probe on gnd. and set your meter to it's lowest Ohm scale and see what you measure. You are reversing the probes from how you would read a voltage reading because you do not want to measure through the protection diode built in to Q9806.

                                147K just means the 147,000 OHM resistor which is label R9809 If you look just below the R9809 you will find the 147K

                                So what I can tell from the data sheet Q9806 should be on. I would still Ohm out its output, but I believe this P-channel FET needs to be replaced. I have attached its data sheet. You may also want to wait til dellxps15 confirms this.

                                        I was on a computer that did not have the schematic and the link to the schematic would not work. I am now on a computer with the schematic.

                                        Q9806 has a 12.6 volt reading on the source. It has a 9.69V reading on the gate. There is a -2.91 drop from gate to source. Threshold for turn on is -0.8 volts gate to source. The drain has 0 volts on it. If you follow the drain output it will go to a voltage divider of a 300K ohm to 100K ohm before enable and IC. One side of the 100K Ohm resister is tied to ground. This ground will be felt on the drain of Q9806 to complete the circuit from source to drain of Q9806. Q9806 should be turned on with the-2.91 volts and the 12.6 volts should be on the drain. The junction of the 301K ohm and the 100K ohm should measure 3.15 volts. The junction of the resistors is on page 85 section B6. 301K ohm resistor is R9731?
